Hurricane weather coming to Cleveland??? WTF is this about??

I got a news bulliton just now by Weather bug on my computer warnign us already about Thursday evening through friday about how bad the winds are going to be in and around Cleveland Ohio counties.

for some reason, weather bug won't let me copy and paste onto here?

But it says the National weather service in Cleveland Ohio has issued a High wind watch for thursday night into Friday. Sustained winds of 45-55MPH! with wind gust as high as 80mph!!!!!!!!!

If this is true, cleveland is going to get a lot of damage as its an old city and a lot of very old houses that do not ever see this kind of wind guest!

I've been here all my life and never read anything here with as high of winds as they we are expecting here! kinda scary, what the hell is with this weather latly??

Those aren't hurricane winds! Those are what we Floridians call strong gusts. When Charley, Frances and Jeanne came through we had winds higher than that for 20-24 hours straight.

80 MPH; that MAY blow off a few shingles, topple 1 or 2 shallow rooted trees... could potentially knock down a few utility poles (maybe). That's about it...

We've had stronger thunderstorms here in Dallas.

80 MPH wind, with a 0 degree air temp- that makes for a harrowingly cold wind-chill factor. (That I wish I could experience).

Same here. I'd like to experience it for a few short minutes, thats it.

80 MPH winds isn't nothing but that, strong winds. When I read your thread title...I said to myself, "That's it, Matt's cheese finally slid off his cracker. That dude is dooooooomed."
HTF are you going to get a hurricane in OHIO?

Bill, that cracked me up.

80mph winds up in cleveland are not common what so ever. We have storms rip through cleveland in the summertime with close to 60mph winds and that does a lot of damage here to these huge trees that are very old and do not ever see these kinds of winds. those huge big trees are the first to go since there extreamly old around here.

if 60mph gust in cleveland do a lot of damage, 80 mph gust are going to be evern worse.

Hey Neighbor! You mean this?

From the Weather Channel
LORAIN COUNTY-...HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CLEVELAND HAS ISSUED A HIGH WIND WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY EVENING THROUGH NOON FRIDAY.

A WARM FRONT WILL MOVE NORTH OF THE AREA TO LAKE ERIE THIS EVENING AND BECOME NEARLY STATIONARY. A STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE NORTHEAST ALONG THE FRONT AND CAUSE WINDS TO INCREASE THROUGH THE DAY THURSDAY AND POSSIBLY BECOME STRONG THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING.

SUSTAINED WINDS OF 25 TO 35 MPH ARE LIKELY THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY MORNING WITH GUSTS BETWEEN 50 AND 60 MPH POSSIBLE AT TIMES.

A HIGH WIND WATCH MEANS THAT THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR STRONG DAMAGING WINDS TO DEVELOP. THESE STRONG WINDS COULD BRING DOWN TREES AND CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE AND POWER OUTAGES. IF A HIGH WIND WARNING IS ISSUED...STAY INSIDE...AND AWAY FROM WINDOWS. BE PREPARED FOR TREES AND OTHER DEBRIS BLOCKING ROADWAYS.

Crap, and I park underneath a bunch of trees too.

Man, now we're gonna have even more mud.

I posted a thread sometime last year when we had a storm with a lot of wind, I posted pics of one of our news helicopters blowing away on the airport runway. Cant find it though. Pics arent in my gallery anymore either.
