Hello....anyone there??

It's been pretty dead here the last few days, so to try to get a little discussion going I have a question to ask. Tax time is here and I assume alot of us will be getting some sort of refund. So with that in mind, if you have the extra cash or just wish you had a little extra...what would you do with an extra $500?

$500, seems like a reasonable number that most can even save up in a month or two if needed. So what would you do with it?

I'm still thinking about..I'll share my answer later

We got back about $3500. We paid off most of our smaller bills to free up monthly income so we can have money to spend. I hate it when we pay all the bills and only have a couple hundred left and I still have to put gas in the truck to get back and forth to work, eat lunches, etc.

"Free money" as my wife calls it.

Next year, we are taking a cruise with the income tax...if we don't acquire more bills over the year.

[EDIT]

I forgot to mention what I would do with an extra $500 bucks.

I'd simply save it. I'm not one to blow money. It's hard to come by, so I treat it as I never have any. But if I could spend the money and not miss it, I would FINALLY get a bed liner, that I have been putng off for 2 years now.

If I had 500 bucks to spare, I'd pay off some of my credit card.

Have extra income where there is no withholding. I plan it so that I will owe. That way, the IRS is not getting the use of my money for free. I can keep it in an interest earning account till I have to pay them.

I'm getting back $2400. Home Ownership rocks! I'm going to use the mortgage refund portion on the house and probably save the rest. Saving makes me happy.

HAHAHA. Saving myself $300 that's what. Took me like 3 hours Saturday to trim up the large tree in the front of the house. Should require another 2 to do the one on the side. That leaves me with a $200 bill for cutting down the crab-apple tree.

I think I'm going to the carpet store after work; they have a good sale tomorrow night only and I want to feel it out.
