OK OK....I guess just doing my taxes got me thinking of having a little extra money. So thats why I started this thread. I guess I should've left that out since I really wasn't reffering to "what you will spend your refund on". More of that $500 is not that far out of reach for most people to save up in a month or two. So if you had and extra $500, what would you buy? Thats all.
So anyway...and extra $500 for me would go to an iPOD, prolly some new K-Swiss and then just use the rest as pocket money. Now if my truck wasn't messed up, I'de be calling Mike and telling him to send an XCal to me asap!!

Most likely be paying again this year. I cut it close, no reason I can see to let the Government have use of my money all year when I can use it so much better!! Even with the purchase of the house I don't see getting a refund. We'll see.
What would I do with $500. . .make a principal reduction payment on my mortgage!

$500, seems like a reasonable number that most can even save up in a month or two if needed. So what would you do with it?
I'm still thinking about..I'll share my answer later

$4600 is going to our new appliances and $5400 to finish paying my sons education.
I don't know what we'll do with the remaining $2000. My wife will probably bank it as usual.
"I'm getting $12,000 back which is a little more than my normal", says 6T6CPE.
Yah, I would say that is a bit more than usual, unless you're in the 6-digit income bracket.
So what r u going to do with the extra $500??

I am paying about $1000 to the federal gov't. I am getting back about $500 from the state gov't. So, I am in the hole $500. I adjusted my w4 so that I will withhold more so that I don't have to pay next year.
As much as financial people advise against giving the gov't your money for the year, it is always nice to have a refund. However, I think if I were to receive a $12,000 refund I would probably want some of that money during the year.

An extra $500? Well, even though all I've been doing here lately is being an instigator in the political threads, I do still have an F150 that is in dire need of some mods. Mods, that's what I'd do whan an EXTRA 500 bucks.
I would have an extra 500, if I hadn't bought a winter beater so that I can preserve my truck. If my POS Toshiba lap top computer would work the way it's supposed to. So far I've paid to have someone look at and do nothing, upgraded the memory, replaced/upgraded the hard drive, and bought a clean OS, and the thing still doesn't work right. I guess that's what happens when a plumber tries to fix a computer. If I didn't smoke, drink and insist on eating lunch out every week day. You get the picture. Extra?
My tax returns should go to pay bills but I want mods. The truck has been in the garage all winter and I'm itching to bolt something to it. Tuner, drop shackles and hard tonneau are at the top of the list. I don't think I'll be able to do much more this year. The house is falling apart so we'll soon have a home equity loan to pay on too.
Some people save all their lives so there is something to pass on. I'm going to spend it all while I'm alive.
