What to do?

That's why I am feeling uncomfortable right now. I don't want them to think that it's ok, but seeing that they're 4 and 2, it's not something they really understand right now.

Even if it escaped me at the register and I was in the parking lot, I'd go back in.
However, the nearest Walmart is 14 miles away. No way in hell am I driving 28 miles at 16 miles per gallon to give Walmart $25.
How far down the road before I'd turn around?
Considering it's two light cycles to get out of the Walmart parking lot, I'd say once I escaped the surrounding traffic congestion that comes with all Walmarts they'd be out of luck.
Oh and my kids don't know my business unless I want them to.
A full disclosure life with your children is a recipe for disaster.
If we're still in the parking lot, I'd make sure the kids knew why we were going back inside.
If we are on the road it's, "Hey kids, who wants ice cream?"

That's te big issue. Wal-mart is 12 miles away, and I was home by the tim I realized it. I also keep a running total in my head, but as previously stated, my kids were doing their best to drive me nuts. That's why I didn't catch it in the store.

That way I could take it out of our system (i'm an inventory control freak) It's as simple as that. Same thing if you were to walk back into the store. But that's me. (and what a coincidence that the sponsored link at the bottom of this thread is for walmart.com)
I have been overcharged and even charged twice for a single item so many times that a $25 item still wouldn't make up the difference. It is twenty miles one way for me to get there. All of the times I got screwed it wasn't worth the trip back, and I sure as hell wouldn't go back to give them more money.
Oh boy have I got a good one for this thread...
I used to work at a Wal-Mart in Quincy, FL.
One day we got a letter from some lady that read something along the lines of...
"Dear Wal-Mart,
10 years ago I was shopping in your store and purchased several items that I put in a wheelbarrow, that I also intended on purchasing, to carry them to the checkout.
After going home and reviewing my recipt I realized that I was not charged for the wheelbarrow. I realize it was wrong at the time, but I did not return to the store to pay for it. Being a woman living in the eyes of God I have decided to finally right my wrong... yada yada yada..."
And inside there was a check for $30!
The entire management team got a real kick out of that one.
Since the wheelbarrow was probably written off 10 years ago I think they just donated the money to the Children's Miracle Network.

If you're in the store or parking lot and realize the mistake...then fix it. But if you're home and away from the situation, then they have to assume the blame.
Take it back and return it and get 25 bucks ehh!!!. that would be 25 bucks you made that day in less than an hour man thats DAM NEAR plumbers rates right there... better yet shop somewhere else that has at least one thing made in the USof A.

I didn't realize my parents could even make a mistake until I was 9 or 10 and
I got the belt for something I actually didn't do.
Until then, I thought they knew everything and any punishment was justified.
But, the day that happened I learned a new battle cry, ATTICA! ATTICA! ATTICA!
As for all of the people today telling people today to do the moral thing, they all need to look in the mirror, as they are no better then the rest of us. I see things everyday, that confirms my opinion to myself.
So basically everyone is immoral, so morality is negated?
Maybe you should consider such thinking is the reason this country has gone so far down the tubes socially and politically.
I was raised to believe some things are black and white, it would appear those values given me by my parents are at odds with a world lost in shades of grey.
