I would say that is a pretty bold statement, considering their poor track record over the last 10 years or so, and the fact that I have seen almost no signs of life out of them over the past two years.

I may be influenced by where I live (Texas) but I see no rising tide of support for the Democratic agenda -- primarily (I suspect) because they have no agenda that I can see beyond hating Bush???
But hey -- if they can pull it off, more power to them!

What a coward.
He's priming us for the pending (and long overdue) Iran invasion. I just wish it was someone else doing the priming.

Surely, you jest.....PS- Republicans have led five of the last ten years, and so will three of the next three... You guys can only blame Clinton for so long before you must realize that most of the BS we're dealing with, is the fault of President Cheney.
In 1996 Clinton put a plan in place to balance the budget. When I heard that, I thought he was smoking and inhaling this time. Nevertheless, he did it. Some guys on here, including my former sparring partner 01 XLT Sport, and others, tried to give credit for that to another President I loved; Reagan.
Sorry guys, as much as I ended up liking and respecting the old man, that wasn't Reagan's doing.
Reagan's spending, while in the white house, was unmatched by any President in history. Not even Bush I could match it, and we went to war during his era. Reagan retained the record until Bush II.
We went from a budget surplus, to the largest deficit in US History...
We have more enemies now, and we face as great, if not a greater threat from attack than we did during the Cold War era.
We have the threat of having to go to war in the Middle East, and in North Korea if we don’t manage that properly.
Our military is steadily shrinking, yet the mission is expanding.
In addition, we have chosen to wear blinders in this country when it comes to partisan BS, and towing the line. We're so busy circling the wagons that we haven't even stopped to look to see that at the end of the day, we're on the same side...
We'd rather follow partisan ideology than to open our eyes and minds and demand answers to the tough questions.
That has to tell you something.
Talk show hosts make bold statements about "Tax & Spend Liberals", while all the while ignoring the plight we find ourselves in because of "Tax, Spend & Spend Conservatives?"
When you take a step back and look at this thing, you can't help but notice we're up to our necks in BS, and it's rising.
I'd be the first to say I liked George when he was the Gov. of Texas, but since he's been the President, things have gone to hell in a hand basket. I don't know if it's his fault, o the fault of those around him...
However, there's no denying it; we're worse off today, in many ways, than we were in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000.

As far as Hillary goes, you guys are DREAMING -- she may be popular with many of the Dems, but as far as I can tell, she's completely unelectable! If you want to lead yourself to slaughter with her as your candidate (similar to what the Republicans did with Bob Dole in 1996) go ahead....

We MUST put serious controls on those who have “free” medical and dental. There is NO reason whatsoever for someone on welfare to get “free” braces. It’s those kind of stupid policies that cost us all who “actually” pay for medical and dental insurance.
There are other issues, I grant you that, but the above is a big problem when you try and look at the complete picture.
The government will NEVER be able to provide free health care to all Americans, not if we want “decent” health care. Look at all the other countries that have government sponsored health and dental. Their people are in very poor shape and the serious ones with some cash come here to America to receive “proper” care that their governments are incapable of.

Anyway I’d like to correct the record and state I never tried to give credit for Clinton Balancing the budget to President Reagan. I do give Clinton AND the republican congress at the time credit for balancing the budget. Personally I think it was a team effort it took BOTH Clinton and Congress, majority of republicans, to balance the budget.
What I did and still do give credit to President Reagan for was the booming economy that Bush I and Clinton inherited from President Reagan. For the record much was done due to so many technological advancements with electronics (i.e computers, cell phones etc.) A lot of research and development happened in the 80’s when Reagan was in office and “some” of that was due to tax cuts.
That boom, from advancements in electronics was a very long boom. Really think about that and just how many advancements happened due to research and development in the 80’s through the 90’s.
I give much more credit to that then any stimulus package Reagan may have had, or Bush I or Clinton.

I think for Bush it’s nothing more then payback time and the HATE is just as bad but coming from democrats. Think about the Iraq issue with a clear head. Nothing changed for why we felt we had to go into Iraq and the majority of democrats AND liberals completely agreed with it when Clinton was in office and then Bush walks in and they all of a sudden change their minds overnight.
What we need to get things back on track, or at least a little better, is a moderate to win in 2008. If Hillary wins, which I have no reason to believe she even has a chance, but if she were to we would see even worse partisan crap and more HATE, or payback.
It’s too bad this country is filled with so many childish adults that happen to make it into an elected office but we have what we have, on both sides of the isle...

All they know is instinct. "When all else fails, don't let the other team get what they want."
Everybody's punting, but there are no 1st downs, and no touchdowns.
We need a big play to break this thing open!
I would not fear too much about the democrats taking anything back anytime soon. For some odd reason they still have not learned their lessons of getting their @ss beat at the ballot box…
They will not regain any power until they can actually come up with some agendas and plans of their own.
Gone are the days where people would elect someone based solely on them whining about the other guy, and how screwed up he/she is WITH OUT their own plan so they could explain how they would fix the issue.
The democrats are currently in a death spin, they continue to loss power and creditability because they lack focus and they are a very badly split party.
They have to learn how to comprehend and then actually execute a plan, a vision. They don’t have that skill and have not had that for a very long time. They got lucky with Clinton because he actually could comprehend and execute a plan. Not only that but he commutate it in a calm manner reflecting confidence.
Today what many people walk away from after listening to the democrat big hitters like Kerry, Kennedy, Algore, and others is fear, confusion, anxiety, no hope, and that we are all doomed. Very few people walk away with any real reason to vote for one of them because none of them give anyone a reason to vote for them. Why, because they tell you the problem and that the other person sucks and then just leave. They never give you a clue as to how they would handle it and/or what actions they would take to correct it…

I was peeved last night when I saw the Republicans clapping at everything Bush said, and the Dems sittign on their hands, until he got to the part about the Social Security; and how they blocked that.
I thought it was pretty sad to show the WORLD America is a house divided...
I don't care how hard they kick each-others *** behind closed doors, when it's time to show the world our hands, then got-dammit I expect that hand to show nothing but spades.... All the way across. (A United front; all American)
Not that split down the middle BS I saw from Congress last night.
That REALLY pissed me off.
