Cool!

People are starting to insinuate the "I'm Bored" thread as being "boring". If you feel that way, just don't read it.

This thread started out showing real insight...
It's amazing that we cant have a conversation/debate without crap like this.
I was going to comment on how I liked certain parts of the speech, how parts of the speech concerned me, how he showed real conviction in what he believes regardless of whether you agree with him etc....
But I guess we want to call him an idiot, that he doesn't make "SENCE" (sic), how Sheehan accepted an invitation from a congresswoman and then once she got in the chamber took off her shirt to reveal a shirt inappropriate for the occasion, etc.
Continue on with this mind-numbing partisanship....it really flexes the intellect.

Let's see how stupid Bush makes himself look tonight...
They arrested Cindy Sheehan and took her out of the chamber before Bush started his speech. What a Coward
I watched 7 minutes of it and got bored. I figured I'd learn more off of F150online then I can with Bush talking about non sence again
Or the poster mom for the 2200 us soldiers that were killed in iraq.

+1
I got a phone call last night and missed some of the speech.
C-Span has the transcripts so I went there to review what I missed.
So, I'm reading it and about 2/3 the way down he is talking about Saddam and need to remove etc...
I had clicked on the wrong transcript and was reading the 2003 State of the Union.
Now, that is scary. I couldn't pick up on the fact that it was nothing new until I got 2/3 the way through it.
Found the right one.
The way I see it, he got re-elected after much was known so, evidently my views are the minority anyway.
He has a rare oppurtunity that previous Presidents haven't enjoyed and he doesn't seem to take advantage of it.
When a Democratic President is in office, he faces a Republican controlled Congress. (Clinton)
When a Republican is in office, he faces a Democratic controlled Congress, (Reagan, Bush I)
Bush II has it all, both Houses. He has filled a couple of Court seats but, seems to be squandering all of the political capital he boasted of in Nov '04.
He could accomplish much. How could he be stopped?
I really don't understand his answer to to the nations healthcare situation, his Insurance Savings Plan. Apparently, those that have low coverage and a high deductable can start a tax-deferred savings account for future health costs. That's it?
So I start a savings account that pays 1.5 % interest
and the first time I check into a hospital they charge me $75 for an aspirin.

Hold the horses....wait...a post that actually discusses the merits of the speech...
Dang man....warn me before you start that crap
Bush and Congress have absolutely squandered a very rare chance to make a difference.
No government contraction...increased spending and government intrusion.
The Republicans have proven that they are no better than their counterparts.
They are just taking care of their own "special interests".
They should be ashamed of themselves....they have one year of Bush with any legitimacy and now its too late to do anything truly effective.
That said...privatizing social security is the only way to insure I've got squat in 30 years. Keeping the govt restrictions out of medical insurance coupled with limiting medical liability claims are a good start.
