Wow! It's almost like deja-vu all over again.

Last year in England, the last remaining British owned motor company closed down. That was Rover Group.
The remains of the operation were bought by the Chinese who have stripped the machinery from the factory and shipped it back to China.
Obviously, this garnered a lot of attention by the media who sent TV crews to cover the protests and inevitable picket lines by the unions.
Strikingly, in the backgound, the employee lot was full of Toyota, Nissan, VW and pretty much any other vehicle you care to mention apart from the cars they actually built themselves.
When they interviewed disgruntled employees, they seemed genuinely surprised that they were making a loss and being forced to close down.

This was a choice between the local plant manager & the UAW reps. Good for them, looks like some people have some pride in their products.

Not bloodly likely! I see nothing wrong with it. I think they should expand the ban to include fat workers must part across the street and force excercise. If the tubbies thin down they cost less in health care. Put them in a lot down the street. I also think they should award the closer spots to hard working employees. Parking should be performance-based. When your in the back of the lot about to get moved into the foriegn or fatty lots, you might get motivated to work harder and improve. Those close to the door will always bust **** so they don't have to walk in the rain. Man I'm good. I should be in management.

Parking
They did not ban them. All non Ford vehicles have to be parked in a designated area. Of course it is on the far back corner of the lot. We have a lot of employees who have relatives at the local GM plant so there are some who drive GM. If they don't park in the designated area, they will get a notica and then be towed the 2nd time. I have no problem with that.

I think this is a very good thing.
Watch this though, Ford is nnow the first to do this, and watch, I bet you Honda, GM, toyota and so on, will be doing the same thing as time goes on. Only time will tell, but I can see at least GM doing this too.

Why? Because it's childish.
Besides, when you are winning, you don't need to stoop to 3rd grade logic, acting like the fat kid with the messy shirt and lollipop who wants to take his ball and go home...
Go home, fat boy!
Childish.... Be a man Ford, and put down childish things...

It speaks volumes though, when your employees won't even buy your vehicles, even with the substantial discount they get...
Like they say... If you knew how nasty the process was that it took to make beer, you wouldn't want it? I guess that's true for cars too...
I'll bet Bill Ford has a BMW in his garage at home...
You can't love cars, and not appreciate (or own if you can) a BMW...
