There is a comment here about crack and mattenieer and SAJEFFC daughter... but being a father of two girls myself almost old enough to start "thinking" about dating...... I can't bring myself to make it.
Man I'm getting weak. Use to I could have typed it with out thinking twice....

Insurance paid most of it, deductible was about $400.
I just had my windshield replaced and the guy waived the deductible. I took it back to my hometown where I know the guy who works on them. I am happy with the job, but unhappy that I had to replace it in the first place. Oh well, I can't stand to drive around with a cracked windshield.

Now, I have never had to deal with an issue like this, because in the past I could care less about the car I was driving. I don't know anything about windshield replacement/repair. So, I have a couple of questions.
1. Would it be better to have the windshield replaced, or repaired? They said they could repair it. BUT, they highly recommend replacing it because it is cracked at the very top of the windshield downward right behind the rearview mirror.
2. To repair it, it would cost me nothing. To replace it, it will cost me $50. 50 bucks for a new windshield sounds good. BUT, is that a safe route? What are my odds of leaks around the new windshield? Anyone have any experience in this?

Im glad in the state of South Carolina, cracked windshields due to rocks and road debris are replaced for FREE by insurance companies and the premium will not raise.
I had mine crack the second week I had my truck and within a day of calling the insurance company, I had a replacement windshield installed for FREE. I just love that word.
