Talk about a guy who has no problem getting it UP!!

But let’s look at it this way too. I need my pick-up for my job. Pick-up trucks use to be the cheapest vehicle you could buy. Now you have people buying them and using them for every day vehicles. Not to haul stuff, 4x4, plow snow, work truck and any other thing that pick-up's were used for in the past. So now, when I go to the dealer and look at a truck that is stickered the same as a luxury car I get a little nauseas. It’s at that time that I wish there never was a pick-up truck fad, which caused the prices to go extremely high. On the other hand, the pickem-up truck fad has made the manufactures produce a much prettier pickem-up with more bells and whistles. So I agree, pick-up’s have their purpose, but the purpose that they were initially designed for and what they have become has changed.

My girlfriend just hit me and said, "That explains a lot."
I wonder what that was all about?

Did I do it so I can tear up the pits with the big trucks? No. I did it to be different and stick out from the crowd. I have always loved the look of lifted trucks but being from New Orleans, there aren't many places that I would need 4wd anyway. And to the guy who said you can't stick with the 4wd trucks, I guarantee a 2wd with locked rear and enough power and lift will out-mud many 4wd trucks. If I could put 450 hp to the ground with locked 37's, I promise I would make it through more **** than a stock 4x4. Saying it can't be done is ignorant, saying more work must be done to keep up is realistic.
Locate in N.O., and no place around you'd need 4WD??????? You've gotta' be kidding. I'm from B.R. and there are plenty of places to 4-wheel all around there. Even before Katrina tried to turn it back into a swamp. (I can say that because my sister lives in Chalmette, and lost everything. I'm not being crass about it.)

The same can be said for all vehicles...what is their primary function? To get from point A to point B. Some just want to stick out from the rest of people and have a vehicle that looks different.
Take for example a friend of mine with an '03 Z71. He rides around the highway all the time in his truck with 10" of lift with 38x15.5x20 Nitto Mud Grapplers. Does he need any of that for what he does? No. But he does get stares and people's attention, which is exactly what he was going for.

No, can't say I'm intimently familier with Kenner/Metarie. But we used to always go down to the Spillway, or Belle River area. Or we'd go up to Pineville. I never thought much about driving an hour or two to go have fun. So I guess that close is a pretty relative term in so much as how much you like to drive. By the way, there are no parks anywhere we used to go, just find mud where it sits, and rearrange the surface of the earth!

Not true...
With a 4x4 you can drop it in 4lo and push other crap out of parking spaces.

"Spillway has been closed to offroading for years."
Wow, things sure change. I joined the Navy in 98, and haven't really spent much time down there. I remember having my buddy get stuck somwhere just north of Raceland, at Lake Bouef, and it took us 4 days to get him out.
