So where did I miss the rule that says - Absolutely no 2wd trucks shall be lifted or flaming will result! I've seen some 4wd lifted trucks that look like S&*^. I have no desire to drive a 4wd, no need for one, so if I lift mine it is not because I want it to look like one.

 

Awe poor thing. Did I hurt your feeeewings? It just depends on how much you lift it. IMO if you lift it a couple inches for ride height; great. If you jack it all up in the air but can't even get through a mud pit; then you're a poser.

Why take a perfectly good 4x4 and lower it til it's scraping bugs off the pavement and put perfromance track tires on 25" rims? You can't take it off road or thru a mud pit.

A lot of the lifted trucks running Baja are 2WD. They're called pre-runners. You'll not go rock crawling with 'em. You won't go bogging in them. You will, however, be able to haul *** through rough roads and dunes with less parts to worry about breaking or fixing on the way.
