Yeah, I had a soldier that said he knew a guy that added his own "special sauce" to the burgers in Michigan... This same soldier told me they made ketchup bombs when they had to work the drive-through window until the wee-hours... They' take the buns and dig out most of the bread, but not so much that it lost it's shape...

They'd then fill in the cavity with ketchup, and make the burger- lookign normally. They'd sell it, and then laugh their asses off at the drunk guys that they knew were biting into the ketchup burger a mile or two down the road.

The burgers at the Wendy's I eat at are cooked fresh, right in front of my eyes.

The raw patty is placed on the grill, and when it's done, it's placed on the bun.

I watch them cook it each time I eat there.

Your Wendy's may be different.

The way McD's does it is this

They cook a frozen patty. Takes 58 seconds.

Then they can make a burger right then or they can put it in a meat warmer { kind of like a heated storage bin}. It can stay there for 20 minutes. Then they are suppose to throw it away or make a burger out of it.

Once a burger has been made, It has a shelf life of 10 minutes.

They do the same thing with the buns. They can be cooked {to get the browning on the inside.} then they can be held in a bread warmer for up to 2 hours.

Nuggets and chicken pattied can be stored for 15 minutes I beleive?

If its extremely busy, chances are your food is fairly fresh.

If you go in when its like a ghost town......God only knows how old your food is.????

Things could have changed, but the last time I paid attention to how they did it at Wendy's, they fried the frozen patties on a griddle and the pressed the heck out of them with a spatula. The cooked patties then went into a stainless steel container, presumably heated. The sandwiches were then assembled from patties that came from this container.

I no longer eat Wendy's, especially the drive thru. The last two times, the burgers were cold.

What pisses me off is having to ask for ketchup...

I just got a super/biggie/king/sonic-sized box of fries... Ya damn-right I want some ketchup!!!

What's worse is...to get cold fries...

I had this one ho at Wendy's- she hands me my bag, I see there's no ketchup... I've ordered for 4-5 people, so I ask for ketchup... She hands me 2 packs.. I said can I get some more? She responded.."Mas ketchi?!" nI said yes, I want mas ketchi... Then she handed me the entire bin. I started to take it and drive off...

I started working at McD's at 15 and left at 19 for the Army. I never once considered messing with someone's food as a joke, payback, or for any other reason. That's pretty friggin low.

The Dairy Queen girl I used to bone in Killeen, told me they did some really nasty stuff to people's food- if those people got *****ty with them in the drive through. Dipping their patties in the dish water, rolling hot dogs along the floor, licking the bun before making the burger...

That's why I never did, and knowing that, never will get nasty with someone that has to bring me food...

Me either; but; if anybody ever pulls some BS on me with my food, and I catch it, look out. One way or another somebody's going to pay. I saw a kid spit on a lady's burger, while he was taking the pickles off that she ordered the burger without. He was on his way home without a job 10 minutes later. If it were me, I'd have just took my own pickles off before I ate it.

Yeah, if I saw a muthaeffer doign that, the first thing would happen is I'd grab him and smear that burger in his face, then call his boss and have his **** fired.

But, you're right- I'd probably have taken the pickles off myself- so there's a good chance that wouldn't have happened.

I would have figured wendys patty is cooked to order, due to the fact you could grease a semi with all the excess run off grease on the patty.

When I worked there our favorite was to fill the bun with mayo or those little onions.

We also had an unwritten rule not to jack with someones food unless they really deserved it. Then games such as McChicken broom hockey were created. To me only a total moron would screw with a fast food worker. They are making next to nothing, are typically young and have nothing to lose. If they get fired from McD's go to Taco Bell or Sonic no loss. Never break the #1 rule of life: Don't ***** with the guy that makes your food.

Joe

In all the McD's and Wendys I've visited in the last year (TN, TX, LA, FL, MS, AL, KY et al) the burger meat is cooked on the grill and then placed into warming bins. As you order, the burger is assembled and your choice of fixin's is added. None of the Wendys or McDs grills a burger as people walk in.
BK does the same but nukes the burger before sliding it up front.
Whataburger and Fat Mo's cook the meat as you order, that's why it takes 10 minutes to get your food.

I used to work at Rally's which is now Checkers in many areas. I was the grill person for a long time. We had two methods for cooking the meat which were frozen patties. One, if it was not real busy, we cooked it slowly on the grill where it took 2 minutes per side cook. Second way was if it started getting busier, we could put the patties on the grill then pull the top down and it could cook in 1 minute. We always kept at least 2 burgers on the grill at all times that way there would be fresh ones ready. When they cooked, we put them to the warm side of the grill where I think it was only 5 maybe 10 minutes or until they started drying out. Then it was used to make the chili.

The Chicken was always cooked to order and the fries were almost always cooked to order unless some had just been cooked. The buns were toasted and the burgers were always prepared to order.

I eat at Mcdonalds alot, mainly for the chicken nuggets, but I would prefer Checkers/Rally's to most other hamburger places. Either there or Hardees as I love their Frisco Burgers

Best place to get chicken nuggets is your local Chinese takeout. Order the sweet-n-sour chicken for $3-$3.50 and throw away the rice. Instead of 6 nuggets you get a whole pint container full and they taste better than McDung.
