Listen to some Freddie King, he is one of the best, or Stevie Ray Vaughn.

I listen to Vaughn....but I would never have really considered him "Blues".....

Yes, Stevie was blues/rock, his idol was Freddie King, who died at the age of 38 in 1979. Clapton also credits Freddie King. So much of the blues these days is a combination of blues/rock/country. John Hiatt is a good example.

Hiatt has some good stuff......course....he does tend to frequent the land of lost opportunities and mass marketing:

I have all of Hiatt's music. There are a few duds but most is very good, a few are great. I saw him at a club in Fort Worth about 5 years ago, and it was the best live show I have seen, and I have seen a few.
