He not only shot the guy shooting at him.. he shot a few others too..

Like you said, I pray Im never ina situation like that either... its hsard to distinguish between murder and self defence in that situation.

Some could say that "The guy didnt shoot at him.. just near him too scare him, so its murder"... Some could say that He shot at him and he responded in self defence.. Real iffy situation

NEVER SHOOT AT ANY LIVING THING UNLESSS YOU ARE PREPARED TO TAKE IT HOME AND EAT IT!! That's lesson # 1.
SHOOT TO KILL! Lesson #2.
If you can't follow these 2 simple rules, sell, destroy or bury your weapons.

If Someone shoots at me they better hit me cuz they aint gonna get a chance 2 shoot back i truely believe in self defense i dont believe in tresspassing though and i can understand the guy painting his cows because so many people with no common sense at all are in the woods hunting now days its sad to see such a wonder sport go to the point where it is dangerous i only hunt on private land with responsible people who know and understand firearms

I'm not a hunter myself, but see nothing wrong with it. I come from a long line of hunters, just never took up the interest. Fishing's another story.
My favorite two bumperstickers:
PETA - People Eating Tasty Animals
and
Why do they call it Tourist Season if you can't shoot 'em.

Not true.
In Indiana squirrel, "may be taken with any equipment and ammunition during squirrel hunting season."

But if you hit a squirrel with a .50 BMG, the tail might survive

A group of hunters came across this guy, who coult speak english WELL, who they'd asked to leave their property once before. They told him to leave again and he complied with no incodent. The hunters then began yelling racial slurs at him while he was walking away. Still, he complied. Then one of the hunters shot *at* him... not shooting to kill him, just to scare him. The bullet hit the ground beside him. Then he turned around and murdered the initial shooter and a few others...

So... He *shouldnt* have killed them, but they REALLY shouldnt have shot at him.

I dunno the final verdict of the case.. it was on court TV about a month ago.
The way the story was told around here was that the guy was american born but of asian descent and either was either inn or had been in the National Gaurd was in a private tree stand. The owners of the stand saw him and told him to leave. He refused to leave. The hunters went and got some of their buddies and came back and told him to leave. At that point he opened fire on the owners of hte stand with an SKS. They radioed some more of their buddies w/ the walky-talkies they had and told them they were being shot at. Additional buddies showed up and were also picked off by the SKS - some of them in the back. After the guy expanded all of his amo (which was a 30 round magazine), he got down and left. After he got down he started hiking it out but was lost. He stopped someone on the road and they either told him how to get where he was wanting to go, or took him there, unaware of what had happened.

All told, I think he shot 8 people, but 2 lived. If I recall correctly, one of the people shot was a 15 year old boy. He was convicted on 6 counts of murder. I hadn't heard the that he was hot at first, but I'm sure that was something the defense claimed to save his @ss.

If everyone followd the 2 rules I posted earlier, you would only be shooting at FOOD. Unless you're a cannibal.
Now when it comes to self defense, that's different. Just make sure that you are in your bedroom, otherwise it's murder. At least in Canada. Where the Liberals now want to ban ALL hand guns. Bastards!!! 3 guesses who I WONT be voting for in January/06

If they come to get your gun then say " i was cleaning all my guns in the boat on the lake when it capsized."

Hey man, everything is okay around here, unless you lose a gun, and happened to be minority..

Then you are the worst thing on this earth,!!

The guns wouldn't be the only thing at the bottom of the lake. I can't swim.
