Fiance's friend dies in road rage accident

One of my fiance's best friends that she has known for almost 20 years was killed in a road rage accident on Sunday while on her way to work. She was in the left lane when someone came flying up on her and started tailgating her. She tried to speed up and move over but the other driver sped up and got around her and then slammed on brakes for no reason at all causing her to swerve and go through a guard rail and down an embankment ejecting and killing her immediately. Then the other driver sped away. He was driving an Infiniti QX4. Witnesses could not get a tag number.

She now has twin children 21 months old that will never see their mom again because of the MF'ing SOB. I hope they find this bastard and do the worst that they can to him. Her dad is a police officer and I am sure he will do everything he can to find this piece of crap human being and make sure he is convicted of murder.

She was NOT wearing a seatbelt when the accident happened. She may have been able to make if she had, but the embankment she went down in this area is very high so it is hard to tell is she would have or not.

There is no way to ever know that!
It's actually a rather naive statement.
If she would have been wearing, and still died, would your first thought have been "Well if she wouldn't have had one on then she likely would have lived?"
You can't predict that in either scenario, especally from a third party report.
If you see or hear something that begins with "So and so says" It is not wise to take it word for word, because it is mostly so and so's opinion.

Besides that, it sounds like a sleazy defense lawyers statement.

Technically if it wasn't for him/her she wouldn't of had a need for a seatbelt because she wouldn't have been driving down the embankment to begin with. He/she is whole heartedly to blame. Road rage is not an accident, He/she positioned themselfs to beable to slam on thier brakes for her. They knew that if they did that, that it might would cause her to wreck and that was why they did it. That makes it a pre planned and thought out "incident". I'm sure they didn't plan for her to die or for her to even get hurt, probably just thought it would just scare her or maybe bang up the car a little. The problem is that they failed to think thier actions thru! Now a young mother is dead becasue of thier ignorance.

If it's been said once, it's been said a thousand times, but I'll say it again. People need to be held accountable for thier actions. Stupidity is not a good enough execuse! Lack of personal accountability is one of the main problems with the country today. Saying "I'm sorry I didn't mean to for her die, it was an accident." does not cut it.... I'm so mad I can't think straight enough to finish this rant.

Tell your Fiance and her friends family that they all have my deepest sympathies, and are all in my prayers.

My condolences as well. I also agree that the accident AND her death is 100% the fault of the idiot driving the other vehicle. However, I also agree her chances of survival would have been much higher if she had been wearing a seat beat. Facts are facts but regardless the other driver is completely and 100% responsible for the complete outcome of this incident which took the life of an innocent victim…

Road rage and reckless driving are becoming a real problem.

They should be held accountable and lose the privalage of driving.
but for the few, we must suffer the fools.

Sorry about the loss.
With sympathy

I hate hearing crap like that.
I know years ago I was driving in the mountains, and went to pass someone as they were driving pretty slow. It was a passing area, but there wasn't a ton of miles to pass... as I started to pass, they sped up. Finally I realized oncoming traffic was coming so I slowed down to get back into my lane, and this person slowed down as well. Starting to freak out a little I sped up again trying to pass, they matched me again. Finally with traffic ocming on fast and now starting to apply their brakes I slammed my brakes and swerved to get back into the lane. That was all I could do. I called State Patrol on the guy, because I literally could hav ebeen killed very easily. I hate to see what people do in their vehicles.
My condolences to your fiance.

People like this are just asking for road rage. I had something like this happen to me a few years ago before I grew wiser. It was getting late at night, and it was an out of state car. They made the biggest mistake of thier life in stopping at the next town for gas. (remember I was younger and not as wise) I followed them into the gas station and grabbed a blacksmith's hammer from under the seat and smashed the headlights in on the car. I bet those punk kids had fun getting home that night.

My prayers are with her family and friends, especially those 2 babies. To have their mother taken away at such a young age by a senseless act of violence. I'm both angered and saddened at the thought processes behind these peoples actions

All you need to see is one of those spectacular NASACAR crashes to know that seat belts save lives.

If you leave the driveway, you NEED to wear a seat belt. Period.

Oh my God. That is just awful. I hate to hear things like that. I had a road rage incident once. The other driver started it, but it is so easy to get involved in the rage you feel at the moment. My thoughts and prayers go out to her and her family.

Yes, it is terrible that she died, and I am in NO WAY condoning the other drivers actions, BUT, did she bring this on herself? Like bobbling along in the left lane keeping pace with the people in the right hand lane therefore congesting up the whole road like I see so many people do? Perhaps if there was more education on highway driving, then there would be less road rage. Just my 2 cents, flame away!
