Might be able to help you out there. My buddy's truck is in or near Sullivan (sp) , MO, and the bed and frame are the only things he won't be needing. So, if you reall want it, I'll talk to him about it tonight. I know it's a two tone brown/tan (I think opposite my '75), but that's all I know...

I'd be very interested. It has to better than mine doesn't it? The floor in mine isn't all that bad, just the quarters and corners on the panels. I don't really feel like buying and installing new bedsides, esp on a beater.

It's always great to help out friends.

Last winter I was helping a buddy build his 76 F100 Ranger. Just has 302 though but motor was shot, he was on a tight budget. "He has the money but wife...I wont get into that. .. not my deal" Any way we decided to rebuild the engine ourselfs "minus machine work". Got it all cleaned up, painted and put together, droped it back in. And it ran but was flooding it's self. Carb need rebuilt from sitting for so long. Which I had already advised that it likely would. Anyway, he found a sweet deal on an aluminum edelbrock 4brl intake and a chrome edelbrock 600 carb new in box at a local parts store. He wanted it bad but wife said no. Even after we explained that it wasnt going to cost that much more than a rebuld kit and how much better the truck woud run with it. It was still a no go. So I went out to the garage pulled his intake and carb off. and accidentlaly droped it on the garage floor. "
Ooooppps glumsy me... :o " The Edelbrock set up was now cheaper.

Edited to add:
Here is a link to a page I put up so he coudl show his brother in another state what we had done. Complete with audio sample and video download of the truck available.

Well, I brought 'er home tonight. Stopped by the buddy's house on the way home. He gave me a starter solenoid, driver's side mirror, stereo, and two Haynes manuals. Obvioiusly the books aren't mine to keep, and we'll just figure out the other stuff later...

Then when I got home the fiance wanted to go for a ride so went down to O'Reilly's and got some tune up goodies, then got 10gals of 89 oct, and headed home...

PSS - sounds like a cool deal. I'll check out the site more when I have time. Gonna go play in the garage now...

KSU - I asked him about the bed. He said there was a little bit of rust, but he didn't think it was bad, but he thinks the front of the bed "might" be pushed toward the cab some, but not sure. He hasn't seem the truck in almost a year. He's hoping to go get it in the next few months. I'll keep you updated on the bed...

Well, I pulled the old carb off. Found there were several vacuum leaks. The vacuum advance was plugged into the manifold, and there's no kickdown linkage. I only pulled #1 plug, and it really didn't look too bad.

It leaves a few drops of oil on the ground, but I really think it's coming from a valve cover. They're pretty knarly & leaky...

Tonight I bought:
fuel filter
carb gasket
plugs
wires
cap
rotor

I then found out you have to have the EGR plate for the carb to mechanically work right. So, I'll have to get a gasket for it tomorrow, along with PCV, breather, vacuum hose, (2) 3/8" pipe plugs (to get rid of some vacuum/emissions crap, and a heater hose fitting.

Then gotta hunt down a kickdown rod. All I could find on ebay was a replacement cable for like $40.

Then I'll need tires, change the oil/filter, tranny fluid/filter and probably the air filter...

Think of anything else???
