I DO love my D70...but of course, NOW I want the D200 that was just announced...LOL I won't be buying it though (I'm married...and she'd be ticked).

I subscribed to the magazine Rose mentioned. I also bought a 'short course' guide for the D70 by Dennis Curtin. It's specifically for the D70. They probably have one for the D50. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...60158?v=glance

Keep up the good work

Since others are posting some of their favorite shots (lariatf150, those are beautiful!). I thought I'd get in on the action too. Mind you, these are taken with a 35mm camera and scanned so the quality may not be as good as the original print but here are a few favorite pictures from my vast collection:

The Oregon coast

My folks windmill

Another sunset on the Oregon coast

This little frog seemed to like my flowers!

Brew,
Those are some really nice shots. The D50 is prooving itself to be a very good choice in DSLR's. Everyone I talk to just loves it.

If you are looking into magazine subs, the top three in my book are "Popular Photography & Imaging" (Pop Photo for short), "Outdoor Photographer", and "Petersens Photographic". Petersens Photographic always has little tutorials each month for sharpening your skills and learning new tricks so I always recommend that one to new photographers as a first choice. I subscribe to all three and occasionally pick up a copy of "Shutterbug" off the stand if I am shopping for new gear.

Nov. 1st was like X-mas morning for me. That was the day the press release came out for the new D200. I have been waiting for months for that day to come. It is supposed to be available to the public at the end of December. I will give it a few months for everyone else to find all the bugs in it and will be ordering mine in March. So much for lifting my truck this spring. Daddy needs a new camera. :santa: :santa:

^^^ Sheesh...took you long enough to get here

Thanks for the compliments and the magazine suggestions.

I knew I like photography, but never knew I would like it this much once I got my new camera. Absolutely , the best thing I've bought for myself in a long time.

Haven't felt worth a chit in days. Just starting to feel a little better tonight. Had two kids home from school yesterday and one home today.

Thanks guys. I waste a lot of film but I do enjoy it and when I get a nice shot it is such a reward. I have about 12 pictures enlarged, framed and hanging in the house. The 4 pictures I posted are all enlarged to 8x10, matted and framed in nice 11x14 frames. What's really cool. . .with the new house I have more wall space, room to hang a few more!!
