Welcome to our dysfuntional family.

You will definatly beable to find plenty of info here. Probably more info than you could ever hope to know in a life time, some that you wish that you didn't know. Ohh and some info about your truck might be found scattered around here too.

Sit back and enjoy the ride because it's always a wild one around here.

I'm mainly here to see how HWM3's truck does with the mods he's been doing. I'm not an F-150 owner, as some people may figure out, but I'm not here to start trouble.

I know HWM3 from when we used to have Jeeps, now we have both bought trucks (although different choices of trucks ) just because of the reliability factor over the Jeeps.

His truck REALLY woke up (even with the 3.55 rear end) with the intake/exhaust/troyer (xcalibrator?) chip. I was pretty damn impressed. It used to be pretty sluggish... now it's a completely different truck.

I came down to visit him this weekend and we hooked my laptop up to his Xcalibrator and truck to gather some data before we take it to the dyno so we can send the data off to Troyer. It's AMAZING how much data you can choose to see... I mean... power steering line pressures!?

Wish they made a tuner for my truck

Anyway... HWM3... we'll get some datalogging done when you come up here next week for a few dyno pulls.

I'm guessing that JD TIT is short for JD Titan. Since he said that they don't make a tuner for his truck yet.

I didn't even notice that you were my neigbor...

You just made me inhale Code Red Mt. Dew. then almost spit it on my monitor.
That was my first thought too until I started looking for clues.

I like ta-tas!

Yes, I've got a Titan, but I'm not here to bullsh*t about which one is better... that's just childish, and nobody will ever win from either side.

HWM3 and I just got back from doing some datalogging with the Xcaliber. It's pretty sweet to see the computer graph all that info in real-time, then save it and play it back. Pretty awesome stuff.

I wonder how much more performance Troyer can get out of the tuner after we send them the datalogging and dyno info. Should be quite interesting!

One thing I want to note... that tuner made the shifts REALLY nice and "firm" (not harsh).

I think the serpentine belt squeak at the shift is due to the motor speed changing very quickly, and the accessories over-running the belt for an instant. Maybe a Gatorback belt would help out there. I sure don't think it's hurting anything, though, and it's really not very noticable.

Well thanks I like the Ford as well. To be honest, it came down to price when I bought my truck which was a few months before Ford started the employee pricing, otherwise I may have bought the F150. But I'm happy either way it goes.

Yes, the Gatorback belt will eliminate the squeaking/ chirping on the shifts. Auto Zone carries them. $25 and 5 minutes, problem solved.

Well I learned something from this thread already. I dont have a tuner chip but I have always had a slight squal. My belt looks fine, so I had always attributed it to the idler pully. It appears like the bearings in it are starting to wear slightly. I've thought about getting a programable tuner just to lower the shift point slightly and firm up the shifts alot.
