Any web designers?

I am in the process of starting a new site, and have already registered the domain name. I am working on buying vBulletin for the site, and getting the hosting all squared away. What I wanna know is, how does my banner look? Does it look alright? Or too cheesy? My P-shop skills are kinda rusty since I got out of the graphic design business a while back. Give me your thoughts.

Well it looks pretty simple. And not simple in a good way. Kinda simple as in it looks like it was made on MS Paint. Id give it one more shot, or have Jamzwayne make one fore you.

Honestly..because thats what you asked for...Its not something I would click on. Its just too plain and boring. Doesn't seem to pull me in , and say click me.

Know what I mean? Not to sound like a jerk, but I think it needs some more "pop" or "wow" factor

Vader has the right idea, but without seeing the entire page as a whole the banner is useless... do you have a design concept for the site? Or just starting with a banner and creating the site around it? 'Cuz with your banner I'd rather smash my d**k with a hammer than go to that site based on the banner.....

He is right though....build the site first...the banner doesn't mean crap.

I mean look at steve's.

It hasn't changed but this is the greatest F150 site on the web. Eye candy is great but substance is what matters most.

LMAO!

I WAS pretty tired last night when I made that. Hey Vader, you should let me steal that! I like it. Anyway, it's gonna be a while before its up and running, I still need to purchase the forum software, and get my buddy to help me design an interface, etc..

Well if I were you I wouldn't be worrying about the banner right now... work on your plan, layout, nav structure, policies, blah blah blah blah... you've got a crap load of other work...

As "D" says, "It looks like a vaccum cleaner site if you look at the logo."

Who knew 80 thousand + people had so much to say about thier Hoovers and Oreks as we do here.
