Red face Halloween is just around the corner..

I have been on other boards where people share ghost stories. OK, i realize October is still a few days away, i just love the holiday. Love scary stuff.. Anyone want to share? I have one.. and if you don't believe in ghost, don't feel obligated to tell me i'm a moron for believing in the stuff.. suppress that feeling deep inside, would you?

Ok, short one. My cousin and i were in my bedroom goofing around, i was about 12. We were lsitening to the radio, my parents were gone. All of a sudden, the radio cuts out, but all the lights stay on in the room. We both got real quiet for a second, like, What the hell just happened there? Then, i heard a "click". Right down the hall from my room was the attic access panel. There is a light on a pull chain right above in the attic. I walked doen the hall, which was semi-dark, looked up, and i could see the light was shinning around the crack of the attic access. Something turned it on, or someone.. We both lit out of the house like a thief in the night, hung outside until my folks got home...

One more.. I was about 19 or 20, still living at home (hey, i was in school, give me a break, would ya?) It was about 1:30 am.. I hear someone walk by my door, the front door open, screen door open and slam, then, about 3 minutes later, the same in reverse.. more footsteps by my door. I thought maybe my mom got up to check something, so i get to see what the deal is. She is sound asleep, my dad was out of town, no one else in the house at all. I checked (with my trusty friend, Mr. Remington at my side, of course), found nothing. Asked my mom the next day, she never heard a thing.. She has never had a history of sleep-walking or anything.. freaked me out...

Want to hear something scary?

I had a friend in college who's Mom was posessed. He said they had to perform an exorcism on her. How I found that out was... I asked him if he's ever seen that movie The Exorcist, and he said he didn't watch that stuff because of what happened to his Mom. Then he said he didn't want to talk about it.

I'll share one...

It's been a couple of years ago, everyone in the house was asleep except me. I was in the living room doing some work on the computer. It is like 2:00 am I hear an odd sound from my oldest daughters room. She was about 7 at the time. I couldn't quit idenify it so I go to investigate and make sure that she is alright. I get there and she is lying in bed sprawled out, a puddle of drool on her pillow under her mouth so I knew she hadn't moved in a while. I am standing in the middle of her room confused trying to figure out what that sound could have been. All of a sudden the door **** on her closet door turns and the door opens up wide. I stood there froze for what seemed like ever. There was nothing even touching the door. When I gained my composure and was able to move again then I tried to rationalize it somehow. I could not figure out how it happened or what the sound was so after a few minutes of further investigation I shut the door, picked her up out of bed and brought her in to sleep on the couch while I finished working. Iwas going to be up all night any way so I spent the rest of that night pondering the events while I worked. Then went to work and pondered some more. Still pondering them. It was C-R-E-E-P-Y! To say the least.

If anyone wants to try and provide an explanation keep in mind that I live in an earth burm home. That means that my floors and walls are 10" thick concrete. There is no movement that could make thw door frame shift to allow the door to release. There was nothing on the inside touching the door providing presure pushing iot open either. The door is not 100% level but if you let go of it then it wants to close. NOT open much less stay open.

Another one:
Little over a year ago I was unemployed, I was home alone one day, kids were at school wife was at work. It was mid to late afternoon. I was sitting at the computer again looking for a job. I heard what sounded like a really big dog growl what sounded like on my front porch. I had just had to put my Siberain Husky down due to Polvo about 2 weks earlier. So I didn't have a big dog of any kind anymore. It was so deep and so threatening sounding that it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I am not scared of dogs in the least, so this was a strange responce for me. I have walked up to growling Rottwielers and calmed them down before. But this was even more threatening than any dog I have ever encountered. So I was thinking a rabied dog. I grabbed my rifle and went to the door to see what was out there. I didn't see anything so I came back in and was standing in front of my door looking out of my blinds with rifle in my hands.. Then I heard it again! This time it sounded like it was right behind me. Sounded close enough that I whipped around and backed into my door. When I turned around and nothing is there. Every single hair on my body stood on end and my blood instantly ran cold. Heard it 2 more times that day in the same area right next to the door but I could not find anything.

Wow Matt, creepy stuff!

My story isn't quite so scary, I mean it was at the time but now we just laugh about it...When I was in high school my sister and I were staying with our cousins one evening while our folks and their folks went out. We decided to have a séance so we turned out all the lights and lit some candles. We all sat in a circle and started our séance when all of the sudden there were some really loud noises outside. It scared the bejesus out of us, we thought we'd raised the dead for sure!! Turns out the wind had blown over the trash cans and they rolled across the icy driveway. When the adults got home we were all sitting in the living room with every light in the house turned on!!
