Fat guy in a little car review...

So my horrid dealer only had a Focus for me today while they replace a function rear slider motor (I don't get it either). I just want to get this done and be done with the dealer....

I had thought the Focus was a neat little cheap get around and even toyed with the idea of getting an SVT Focus to mod and be a cheap speed-racer car. Well, today any thought of every owning POScus has been removed from my head. What a horrible, horrible car. Seriously. WTF Ford?! How in the hell did you ever get good reviews or win awards with this pile? Is the compact segment really this bad? Abnoixious engine noise and whine at speed, takes bumps like it's sittin' on twenty 'fos, looks cheaper than it is, has cupholders in the dumbest locations, and fit and finish was less than good.

The Highs:
Crisp steering, tight handling at the expense of ride quality. Comfy seats & decent stereo for base model.

The Lows:
Noise. Everywhere. My god make the noise stop!!!! Rattles, bumps, engine, everything! AAARRRGGGGHHHH!! And this is coming from my now noisey as hell truck! Ride quality. Legroom - Ford, let's talk: Do you think that people have long torsos and stubby little legs?! WTF?! At 6'10" I had gobs of headroom left yet my 36/38" inseam legs have NO room becuase your $*@()@ seat doesn't go back! Talk to the Germans, they know how to build a seat. Look at the 3 series, 5 series, Mini Cooper, VWs.... c'mon!!! Tall freaks need cheap transportation too you know! God I hate your short %*@)@ engineers! I shoulda got a degree in mechanical engineering...
And last, quality of materials and fit and finish. With just over 4k on the odo this car looks like it was at 100K and ready to fall part.

And for those wondering what it looks like for my huge **** to drive a Focus, here you go:

Stupid focus...

The jap cars usually have even less legroom than the american cars.... when I was shopping last time every Lexus & Infinity got waxed from the list since they are all made for midgets. I've heard Acuras have room, but that was prolly some 6'1" moron that *thinks* he's tall writing the review...

I know this will sound pretty stupid, but.....

Test drive a Mitsubishi Gallant. I had one. They are roomy, but they don't have the getty-up that a Corvette has, handle great, and easy to maintain.

If I HAD to get another car, it would be one of dem.

Yeah, yeah, yeah......everyone gave me chit about that car...but it was a great little car. Wasn't a speedster, but wasn't a slug either. I'm not saying go out and get one, just test drive it.

Just my 2.
