    Laptop with wireless adapter

Then follow this diagram.....
http://www.homenethelp.com/web/diagr...ireless-ap.asp

Wall to DSL modem, DSL modem to router, Router to each computer "either via cables or wireless".

Ohhh, i think I understand now! So the Ethernet cable plugs into the wireless router. But all other plugs stay put within the DSL modem.

Then, buy 3 wireless adapters to plug into the USB ports of each computer.

Rrright?

Well technically you only need 1 wireless adapter, here's why...
your Mac laptop already has one in it.
your main computer can connect using Ethernet since it'll be in the same room.
That only leaves your last computer needing a wireless adapter.

The laptop does not need an adapter. And now that I think about it, the Airport base allows one ethernet connection as well...so you can plug a desktop into that. The other desktop might need an adapter.

Alright, let me summarize this and make sure I know what to do....

Okay, since I will be using a wireless router, the Ethernet cable will be plugged into that. Right?

SINCE I will be using a wireless router, all computers within the house can only run off of wireless adapters, and not the PC Port Adapters, right?

The wireless adapter plugs into the computer by way of USB, right?

They don't have to run off wireless. You can still connect using Ethernet if you wish.

I recommend: Wall -> DSL Modem -> Wireless router. Then since one computer will be in the same room connect that computer using Ethernet then purchase either

or

to plug into the second computer so it can be wireless and you don't have ethernet cables throughout your house. The third MAC laptop already has a wireless adapter in it so you don't need to worry about that one at all

ahh, so even though the Ethernet cable is connected to the wireless router, any computer in my house can still run off the PC Port adapter? (Phone line to USB port)

Not phone line to USB, I suggest removing that setup all together.
Modem - Router - 1 computer via Ethernet and 2 computers via wireless

Bingo...
Up to 4 computers can be connected to the wireless router by ethernet cables. + Up to 100 computers via wireless. So 104 computers can share your internet and internet does not go through any computer they all have a direct connection to the internet.

If the computer is on it is connected and no other computer has to be on for it to have internet.

That one wireless adapter is good for OS 9 Macs. The computer that needs an adapter is OS 9.2. Thing is though, it's so expensive!!
