I wouldn't want to go and give credit to CNN or the fine folks that actually did the research.
It's more fun to post like I did and see if anyone actually picks up on it. Like I said, Kudos to you sir.

I got a call from a friend saying that they let alot of ga schools out so that the employees could go get gas because there is a major shortage and they are running out in our state. Holy shiznit. I went fill up cars were lined up 15 deep on each pump. Im not leaving savannah anytime soon.

It was all a load a BS that was started by a email sent out on to people with a GA .edu email address and it spread like wild fire from there. There were cars lined up 30 and 40 deep here in Albany at around 5:00 (because acoarding to the email all the stations were supposed to close and not reopen untill Tuesday). Now tht everyones filled up you can pull up to the pump at any station you want.
That $6 gas in ATL was just based on hype and greed....f*ing anti-American store owners gouging the hell out of the price to make a dollar on someone elses misfortune. They did the exact same thing after 9/11 here...thats why I still wont buy a drop of gas from a store that doesnt at least have an American cashier.
I remember when I filled up I saw a guy filling two barrels full of gas. When he was finished with the first one and about two start with the next one someone came up and started complaining. Then all of a sudden the guy with the barrel jumps off the bed of the truck and beats the s**t out of the other guy. I was laughing the whole time . Just goes to show you how the public can be very stupid.

I'm not necessarily upset by gas prices, but more by gutless rat bastard gouging gas station owners that jack their prices up above and beyond anyone else in town. I filled up here in Columbus yesterday at $2.87 a gallon, and when I got home, I drove to the gas station down the street to fill our Expedition up at $3.00/gallon. I didn't see it myself, but I heard gas stations on Macon Road jacked prices up to like $5.00/gallon.
Went by the same Shell store this AM and the 93 oct. was priced at $3.25.9 up from the $3.16.9 I paid yesterday afternoon and this place usually has the lowest prices around..

Well, since the laws of supply and demand almost immediately drove up the prices when the panic ensued, one would expect the same laws to drive down the prices over the next couple of days, right? The paniced people got it out of their system and waited in line for hours, so now there should be fewer people at the pumps the next few days. The pipelines are back open and gas is again flowing to Atlanta. It will be interesting to see if they do come down.
Labor Day weekend always sees a spike in prices (due to increased demand), but if that demand was already partially sated because of yesterday's fears, then we should see a price decrease. It will be interesting to see if the oil companies react as quickly on the other end...

I'm glad you brught this up.
There is, in fact, an upcoming shortage of natural gas. Home heating IS going to be a killer this year no matter what you use.

The whole issue with gas prices is over rated, suck it up and keep on pumpin'.
