I don't know anything about this forum where I got it, but I received this awesome lil video of a race between a Ford Lightning and a Ford GT that I'd like to share with you guys.

Mmmmmmmm...Lightnings and GT's....

 

I guess Morgan Freeman (Driving Miss Daisy) was driving the GT for that Lightning to do that to it...

But, did you guys notice the Lighting and the GT both get their ***** handed to them by what looked like a Subaru WRX-Sti or an Evolution , then again by what appears to be a Mustang GT convertible?

Must've been amature night....

 

The driver of the GT was letting them pass, you can even see him waving the Lightning past but he didn't go.

I thought I saw him gesturing something- but I thought it may have been the bird. I'll expend the pic & watch it again...

I know if I got to warm-up in the GT for a few laps, to get used to the throttle response, brakes, and steering- no Lightning would touch me; not in the twisties...

I almost purchased a Lightning in 2000, but I didn't because of that supercharger whine- I knew I couldn't live with that- and this clip reaffirmed that decision...

I hope the next "L" makes it's power naturally, with no SC or turbo.

 

A "next L" will probably not happen.

damn dude in the lightning can drive but that ford GT let em by...

That wonderful s/c'r "whine" is one of the reasons I bought mine. I was born amd grew up on the edge of the Everglades and I liken that "whine" to two 'glades Panthers at the moment of conception .

Cool video. Brought back memories of when I use to driver's school my highly-modified, 1991 Z281LE Camaro at Road Atlanta and at Roebling Road(near Savannah).
