How did you old farts do it?....
I just don't know how you older folk did the whole research thing back in the day. I don't know what I would do without the internet when it came to answering my questions within life. All I have to do is open a search engine and I have my answer within minutes....an hour or two tops!
And now with GOOGLE on the scene, this whole process is getting faster and more efficent...I just can't imagine having to sift through card catalogs and papers for hours on end to get the answer to a single question.....

I'm turning 35 next week, not old but I can remember before the internet, when I had to look things up in an encyclopedia. The volume I needed always seemed to be signed out when I needed it most (on the last day before a term paper was due, for example). :o

He makes a good point. Today, we had an unidentified appendage that might or might not have been extraterrestrial. In a matter of about 4 hours, it was positively identified as a water-lily root. In the olden days, this would have been all over the local papers, people making claims of "having seen the mothership", all kinds of crazy ***** untill some professor form a University shows up three weeks later and identifies it for what it really is, bringing an end to the party.
