(while not for hunting its sure fun to shoot)
That rifle looks like a .50 cal rifle. You really want to destroy your target. I hunt with a 30-30 Lever Action Marlin Model 336W with a 3-9x40 scope. The best weapon I ever fired.

Sorry Jim, no hunting allowed there.

Mind you, there's so many of them you could probably just walk up and stab one.

I hunt deer, turkey, and furbearers (foxes, coons, coyotes, etc.). Primarily deer though; most of my time is spent archery hunting. Thought I would have to give it up, but the state was kind enough to give me a disabled permit to use a crossbow in archery season here...Speaking of which, gotta go check my trail camera....

Mostly a deer hunter (bow, shotgun, and muzzleloader) From october through January I am generally out hunting. Just love being out in the field on a cold december morning has to be one of the greatest feelings in the world. I would like to start turkey hunting but just never seem to get a free weekend during turkey season. I also hunt rabbits, squirrells and miscelaneous varmints that happen to get in my way. I ain't killed nothin it nearly two weeks feel I am gettin soft. haha

I also enjoy the hunt. Here is one reason that I chose to build my house at this location, Here is my back yard (Please keep in mine that this is a new house and no landscaping has been done yet):

This is a picture of our 2004 moose hunt, I took the picture through the windshield of my truck following my wife's grandfather's truck.

But this is the Track left by the bull moose we were after but never saw.

I enjoy Partridge hunting the most but, I do hunt Deer, Moose, jack rabit.

My weapon of choice for small game: Single Shot 100 year old Harrington & Richardson 20GA. I also use sometimes a Winchester 32 Special Lever Action but for moose and deer I mostly use an unknown make (at least to me anyway) Bolt Action .308 My Father in Law gave it to me and said it used to be a 7mm Rifle made for the Swedish army, and had it drilled to take a .308 that was much easier to find around our parts back then. Maybe someone here has a clue of what it might be ?.

EDIT: Oh BTW, This is in New-Brunswick, Canada

I love to hunt, just don't have much time to do it anymore. Squirrel and deer mostly, but I'll blast whatever. I've hunted Dove, and duck, want to goose hunt. I'd really like to bowhunt elk before leaving this world AND I'd love to hunt in Alaska.

I've taken blacktail and mule deer, elk, and caribou.

I really want to go back after the caribou. They taste better than anything and I didn't get the set of horns I wanted last time.

I've taken them all with a Brown Precision http://www.brownprecision.com/ modified Rem. 700 7 mag.

BOB

Me and a few of my high school buddies used to skip vocational school and go squirrel hunting. We skipped 60 days and still made A's and B's. Lol. I've been deer hunting once. I remember it was in December, and me and a friend built our stands out of 2x4's and nails. I had the perfect spot. It was about 25-30 feet high and it faced a wheat field where we spotted a buck with a small rack three days earlier. My friend taught me how to look for scrapes, rubs, and droppings, and how to find trails. And most important he said, was to cover up human scent and do not spit near the stand! I didn't get me a deer that day, but it was fun and I saw plenty of doe. Ahhh, the peace and quiet. My friend killed a 5 point a week later from my stand. Sounds about right. I haven't been deer hunting since that day when I was eighteen. I'd like to do it again one day. Maybe when I find a job in my field of expertise and settle down and buy my own piece of property. Until then...
