And that ladies and gentlemen is why I will never own a bike...

I'd be too tempted and too dead....

I suspect the speed was indicated in KPH, not MPH.When it was at 100, it didn't look very fast at all.

nah- somthing stinks........ watch again, when he is at "100 mph" look at the white lines... they arent flying by like they should at a REAL 100 mph. Plus, when he is up shifting, he goes from 50 to 100 in about 2.5 seconds..... I call a bull***** here.....

Nope- CBR1000RR here, and at 150 mph the dotted white lines are solid.

Then I suspect that he has a 2-1 gear on the speedometer cable or something. His 'indicated' 100mph was a lot closer to 50-55mph.

After a quick check in my resource library I found a copy of Cycle World from October 1999. This just happens to have a test of the 'Busa in it. Way back in 1999 the stock 'Busa was capable of a 2.6 0-60, 9.8@145.8 1/4, and a top speed of 194. This was the old only 160hp 521lb original. The '05 models are still 160 hp but are down to 478lb. Some of the bikes have been modded to over 700hp. In the magazine the 1-2 upshift was near 85mph, the bike in the video was about 80-85 for the 1-2. So this speedo and gearing appear stock, the 1/4 time is off because he rolled into the throttle up to 45 or so. I think that the story is believable. However, I was not there when the video was shot so I can't confirm that it is absolutely true.

Mahooky.

Something is very wrong. Watch the median crossing as he goes by at 200 MPH. It would be a blur if it were real. Also, when the front wheel comes down, there hardly any "bump" to the picture.

I thinks me smells rubbish.

A 200+ Busa would make those lane stripes a blur like it was one solid line.

looks real to me, the lines aernt totaly solid but what you see with your naked eye and what a run-o-the-mill camera picks up are two toataly different things.

I say real, and totaly nuts
