Her name is Sadie. She's 4 months old. No one wanted her, because she's a female? I don't understand that at all. I think she is a beautiful pup. She's had most of her shots. She's full blood, but I don't have papers....and get this, she was free. She needs to be fattened up a bit, but I can take car of that.

Her daddy was a police narcotics dog, and her mom is black. She had 11 pups, 1 died, 4 black, 3 chocolate, and 3 golden. She was the only one that didn't sell. The guy selling the pups was only asking $100, but no one wanted her. Well, 4 months later a friend says, I hear you been looking for a lab pup. When I was told she was 4 months old, I was skeptical, but after seeing her, I HAD TO HAVE HER.

Can't beat the price either.

I like the name too. A few months ago 3 strays came up to work and hung around for about 1/2 the day the 2 younger dogs ran off and the older female was a Golden Retreiver. She stuck around and just layed there acting like she didnt have the energy to go on. We took her out some bread and water and she ate and drank like she hadn't had either one in days. She continued to lay there so when it was time to go home I didnt want her to get locked in over the weekend with out food or drink so I loaded her up in the 150 and brought her home. She looked like a Sadie too so thats what I named her. We got home she jumped out and youd thought she'd known the kids and my other dog that I had for years. They ran and played every where. I got an old Dog House out of the shed and put some bedding it for her, got a couple of dishes for food and water. She hung out for a couple of days eating and playing having a good time. Then Mondy when after I'd brought her home Friday. I picked the kids up from school after work and when we got home she was gone. I guess she got her energy up and went to catch up with her buddies.

 

Hey, sounds like you really got lucky! She is going to be a beauty. She will provide lots of love and companionship.

Very cool JAMZ..She's a good looking dog. Dont worry about trying to fatten her up, she'll take care of that on her own. In my experience, females are always a little smaller. Mine was about 80lbs when she was 2 years old. Now my male..well hes at least 120lb or so. Also, I wouldnt worry about her age. I got Caine and Hunter when they were 6 months old and they both turned out great.

Big congrats and you're right; she is going to be your best friend for life. I hope you can find the time to take her out for walks and somewhere she can run without a leash.
