She is pretty, that's for sure.

You mentioned she stays outside during the day, and comes in at night. Do you have a problem with her trying to come in during the day? Sadie will try and dart in and almost go through you to get in.

I guess I am lucky. She follows me around and waits for me to tell her what to do next. When I go home, she runs to meet me. If I go inside, she waits to be invited in, and when I go outside, she walks to the door and waits for me to tell her to go out. If she is inside and needs to go to out, she will come and find me and will just stare at me. Its a different look than when shes hungry or when she wants to play. I will ask her if she needs to go out and she will run to the door. She only pee'd in the house 2 times when she was a puppy and I spanked her and put her outside, since then she never did it again and has never pooped in the house. When I go to my truck, she runs to the door and waits for me to tell her to get in (my Ranger, not my Screw, she knows not to get in there). I never really taught her this, she just picked it up on her own. The only exception is the golf cart. When I get on the golf cart, shes is getting on there, no matter what! I have to sometimes tell her to get off so there is room on the seat for my girlfriend. She wont ride on the floor like my dads dog, she HAS to ride on the seat. Its funny, she will get on there and wiggle in between me and my girlfriend, she has to sit on the seat in the middle.

When she is inside, she has free roam of the house and makes every step I make. If I go and take a shower, shes right there at the shower looking throught the glass waiting for me to get out and give her some attention. If im cooking, shes in the kitchen laying on the floor. But at night, I have her little bed in the laundry room and she is confined in there. One night about a week ago, I didnt close the door all the way and in the middle of the night she came and got in bed with me, scared the crap out of me. Like someone else mentioned, start a routine with her. Molly comes in when I get home and stays in so I can play with her and such in the evening. When the news comes on, and she hears that music, she gets up and goes to the door. I leave her outside while the news is on and when it goes off, I let her back in, she goes and gets in her bed. But she wont go to sleep unless I come in there to cover her up with that towel. I have done it ever since she was a young and she cant go to sleep without it. Then in the morning, when I wake up, she goes outside while I do my morning routine. Then about 30 minutes before I go to work, she comes back in to eat. When I leave for work, she goes outside. If you start Sadie on a routine that she will get used to it and follow it. Sorry to be so long winded, I hope something I have said here helps you out.

WOW ! ! !

That's all I can say. She sounds like a great dog. I was smiling the whole time I was reading your post.

I am working with Sadie. I just hope her older brothers dont wear off on her...cause those two are a couple of lil A-Holes. She hasn't barked much, except at night. I think it's because she wants to be with me. I am a lil worried about one thing....she LOVES my wife. If Sadie and I are together and it's just us two....it's all about me, nothing else matters, but if my wife comes out...it's all her. I'm jealous I guess.

You need to revisit the hacked logon box....add her to your windows logon box (need to be using the classic logon style)

no sweat...

I agree with what the folks were saying about routine..that is the best way a dog learns..through repeptition. I am by no means a dog trainer, but I tell my dogs to do something once, and it is done. I have also heard that if you take her to the same spot to "potty" then she will go there everytime..makes cleanup much easier. I live in an apartment, so I dont use this method.

Well. that sentence with no image would be confusing, at the least.

JAMZ..all dogs are gonna act different. And Sadie will have her own routine (that you teach her) and her own personality. Im sure however you train her she will be great. Caine, just kinda hangs out on my bedroom floor when Im on the computer. Hes inside when Im not home. I just dont like leaving my dogs outside when Im not here. Not that its bad, its just me, and what I do. When I come home from work, he can hear my truck coming down the road and hes looking out the bay window as I pull down the street. When I go out, he goes out, when I come in, he comes in. When I sit to eat dinner, he either eats his at the same time or sleeps on the floor just at the edge of the kitchen. One thing I dont allow is to hang out in the kitchen while we eat and I never give him table food. Strictly dog food and dog bones. Hes awesome at catch and always brings it back to me. Just take your time with her, she'll come around soon. Oh, If Caine has to go to the bathroom, he will lay by the door. If I wait to long before I let him out, he will hit the door **** with his nose to let me know "hey dummy, I need to go pee" Hes such an awesome dog. Theres nothing better than coming home to a happy wagging tail everyday. Hes never in a bad mood.

Thanks BREW.

So for she has learned "fetch" - we call it "ball". Fetch is natural for a Lab, that's why I taught her that first. She is getting good at sit, come, stay (a little bit), and down. She hates her leash, so I am gonna work on that this weekend.

She is a wonderful dog. I dont think I could be happier. My cats, thats another story. Sadie and my 2 cats do NOT get along.
