"What Were We Thinking?"
Good for you, Joe. Change can be difficult because we must leave our 'comfort zone' in order to effect major changes. But on the other hand, nothing changes if nothing changes. So congratulations for stepping up and shaking off the crud.

LGJ, fast food restaurants suck to work at... i should know, i did it off and on for about 10 years once i first started working. you get no respect and are expected to do your job, plus some.... but then, if you get the chance to move on... you do it... just look back on the managers at BK and think... that's what they're stuck with... yuck!!! you made it... mrs. zap!

Say, wanna race Foci?
Babe, I'll race your Foci any day of the week! BTW, good hear from you.

I LOVE my job because I don’t have to “request” chit. I am a professional career terminator…

If some schmuck isn’t doing what they are “responsible” for doing I give 1 and only 1 warning. After that I walk up ask them to follow me and nicely inform them their career “here” has just been terminated, good luck and don’t bother filing for un-employment, and for God’s sake do NOT have anyone call here for a reference…

* side note: I actually had a guy I fired have someone call for a reference. I told the nice lady on the other end of the phone I could sum up his reference in 6 words: Not my problem anymore, good luck

Then you start hearing the whining, ”But Burt, I have a wife” So, get rid of her, make her get a job, tell her to buy less clothes and eat less food. ”But Burt, I have pets” So, sale them, eat them, by the way do you own any cats?

”But Burt, I have kids” So, their not mine, not my fault their daddy is an idiot who can’t follow simple directions. Hey, there are kids starving in foreign lands all over the world and I don’t care about them either, their not mine, well I am pretty sure I only have one…

”But Burt…” SHUT THE FLUCK UP and get out, your outta here, later, terminated buddy…

CIA:

I think we have much more in common then things we disagree about. One thing I can not tolerate is people who are not willing to pull their load. I know from personal experience there is nothing worse then always being the person someone comes to in order to get something done and then watch some moron yanking crank and not doing anything.

Always promised myself in those days if I ever got to the top, or close to the top that those who perform would get just about anything I could possibly get them while the crank yanker’s were dealt with appropriately, which I do my best to make them homeless (Hey, got to help my liberal friends support their programs)

There are sorry SOB's in every job. I have a couple on my job. We only have about 15 or techs in our office, but there are at least 2 people that come to mind. One I have posted about before and that is our new tech. He has been given so many chances to try and improve that it isn't funny. We all know that he incapable of doing his job, yet they won't release him. He is told to be at our office at least 30 minutes prior to his shift to get his company car, yet he may show up 5 minutes early if even that. He always has some excuse for everything. He constantly screws up every call that he does. He has worked for us since October, yet still does not know where half of the ATM's are. We send him on a call, and leave at the same time to go to our own call that may even be a further drive and get done with that one and be working on the next before he even starts his. He keeps doing what he does because he knows they won't do anything to him.

He could have been fired on the spot last weekend for what he done. He had an emergency call that an alarm was going off. We are supposed to go to these type of calls first. Well he didn't. he had several others in the area he was at and done those first and the other one was over an hour drive away. Basically the police had to sit over 5 hours at an ATM waiting for someone to come and turn the alarm off. My manager was ticked off at him. He better be glad that I was not his manager in that situation because he would be unemployed right now. This type of situation is a common occurrence for him.

So these sorry no good for nothing emplyees are on every job and companies are suffering because they won't weed out the bad apples.

Fast food blows. I did a 4 year tour at McD's. I actually had the honor to work with some good people (small town, middle of nowhere, not much work for young folk), but man, some of the morons that worked there.

I'd have a tough time working with the fast food crowd here in CFL. Most of the time you just get a blank stare from the employees here. UCF(local university) was cool to work at. There's a lot of half bright bulbs there too (they hardly ever get fired), but you can avoid them for the most part.

Burt - if you think your work standards/ethics are high, you should go work for my wife.
