pull off dodge vs ford!

well, the other night my buddy and i were chattin and he started talkin smack on the ford. he said quote "ill ripe the axle right out from under that thing" and of course i was like o hell no, got a chain? so we hooked up the chain to our reese hitches, we were about 20 yrds apart. he has a 04 4 door dodge 1500 with a hemi, the only modification he has done was BFG 315 tires. I have an 05 kingranch completely stock. well we hooked up, both in 4low and one of our friends said go, so we went. we didnt really go anywhere at first because we were on extreemly hard limerock but after about 4 sec he started pullin me his way slowly, so he beat me, i was kinda mad, but we all think if i had better tires i would have won, his footprint was about 4 inches wider then mine, not to mention the better tread, so we are going to hook up in about a month when i get my 35s on and we will see who will win, im going to pull that dodge backwards so fast, i cant waite. i might also add i only had a qtr tank and he had a half of tank so he prolly weighed a bit more that night, but like i said just waite, according to maggazines i should be able to pull more then him so we will see, i will keep yall posted!

and finally i will add, after we hooked up and i lost, his dad, who drives a ford also i might add, told him to hook up the chain to one of his trucks. that night he was in the old 4 door powerstroke, long bed, with 35 superswamper ssrs. haha, he told his sone he would keep it in 2 wheel drive and he did. i couldnt believe how strong that deseil was, it pulled that dodge backwards like it wasnt even there, i mean like nothing, and that was only 2 hi, i cant imagine 4low. anyway, tony, my friends dad, claims that old truck will pull more then the new ones, he ownes both so i guess he would no. ALL IN ALL i may have lost the battle, but FORD won the war!!

I would think traction and weight would play more of a part in who would win than power. I hope you was using a good chain? You ever seen what a snapped chain can do to a tailgate, or whatever else it hits??

Did you do it once or best outta three? Did you spin your tires, thus losing traction or what?

Chain

Just a safety note but I knew a guy back in Louisiana who died after the chain broke when he was being yanked out by another truck. What was left of the chain flew straight through the windshield killing him instantly. Probably one of those "hold my beer and watch this" things. Just a word of caution.

give me some credit here guys, i know what im doing, im not dumb. i know what can happen when you "******" somebody with a chain, yeah, that is how you can get killed, just plain pullin on the chain aint going to do crap, its the stupid people that die and get hurt because they use dinky chains. the chain we were using could have held both trucks upside down easily. as far as tires spin, i tried my best to not spin my tires but if you are in dirt you are going to spin your tires no matter what you do, so eventually i just punched it, and after talkin to him, he did that same thing.

chains seem to work better for this application, where as a snachrope would be better to ****** someone out of a hole because they give a little

A good 3/8" C7 Transport chain works best. And always throw an old coat or blanket over the center area of the taunt chain to absorb the energy if it snaps.

Sure about this???

I think you proved this theory incorrect since you did in fact hook two basically brand new truck together with a chain and proceeded to pull away like retarded school kids for no other reason than to say "Ha, Ha, mine's better than your's"...

Yes, this is an insulting reply, but basically you asked for it by posting this stupid nonsense. This boys & girls is why new vehicle insurance costs as much as it does...

Actually, when you put on bigger tires he will pull you even easier, that is if you don't regear. If you both had the same gears you had an advantage due to a smaller tire giving you an effective lower gear than his taller tires. I love my Lariat, but that Hemi has more power.

And no matter the strength I'm not going to go into the chain debate.

and another great post by KC-10 FE.

Just remember pulling isn't always about power, its weight too. It wouldn't matter if you had the same gear ratio and smaller tires if your just spinning, that wouldn't help. Bigger tires usually means more traction and more power to the ground rather than just spinning all day while he pulls you across the yard.

Do you feel the need to police other people's posts? I don't recall directing my response to you.

Since you feel the need to question my motives, allow me to explain...

You see, retarded crap like this is why everyone has to pay ridiculous rates for car insurance. Chain break & take out the tailgate??? Let me claim it on my insurance. Now every single person insured by that company & drives a comparable vehicle will see a rate hike. If you think this is untrue, ask anyone who works for an insurance company. I know several, my company prefers to hire retired military so I have several friends that are employed by an extremely large insurance company.

Crap like this is also why people are sue happy. If that chain breaks, BINGO!!! Instant lawsuit against the chain company for not producing a chain stong enough or idiot-proof.

Not to mention the fact that the afore mentioned action of hooking two V8 truck together with a chain is just plain stupid & dangerous.

AND... Like I mentioned in another post, this is a free country. As long as I dedicate my life to the protection of this nation, I have the right to post anything I so desire, as do you. I can post recipes for oatmeal-raisin cookies if I like. I don't follow you around insulting your replies so why do you insist on doing so to me? Mind your business & I'll mind mine.

Maybe one day when you're all growed up & mommy & daddy aren't buying you everything & you have to pay for stuff yourself, support yourself, hold a job & make some kind of measurable contribution to society, then MAYBE you'll understand.

Oh My god! Get over yourself!

"I climb up on roofs and build houses all day long.. and I risk my life doing it! So I can post anything I want!"
See how dumb that sounds?
Alot of people have risky jobs.. jobs that can easily get them killed... that is CERTAINLY no excuse to "post anything you like". You're telling everyone else to grow up?

Anyways.... its his truck.. let him do what he wants. If it kills him or someone else... yeah, it would be sad, but will you lose any sleep over it... I think you need to mid your own business like you say you will...

In referance to the post...
At work, when the big concrete trucks come to pour us some concrete.... sometimes, they get stuck.. So, my boss.. gets out his chain and his powerstroke and yanks the concrete trucks out... and you know how heavy those are...

With the right chain, you can do virtually anything you want to it and it wont break.
