That was easy!
That was easy!
Hello everyone! Long time since I've actually made a post, well a real post anyway. Just wanted to update everyone on what I've been up to.
Ho'k, two weeks ago I took a vacation to Tennessee to visit my brother who is attending NADC (Nashville Auto Diesel College). The Foci was awesome the whole trip, I managed 27.1 MPG on the way up and 33.4 MPG on the way down, that was due to heading down hill a lot and 99% of Georgias road ways are under construction. While there I met a girl whom I have been talking to on the phone (thank God for Cingular-to-Cingular). Anyways she'll be visiting me down here in FL the first week in July.
I started my newest classes yesterday. I'm taking Digital Electronics I, Electrical Devices II, and Composition I (online). So far so good.
AND for the biggest news....I no longer work for the King. Yup that's right, I left Burger King. Why? Well, to put it simple, too much stress and I was very tired of working with children (even though most were 17 and older). Plus the fact that one of my workers filed a sexual harrasment charge against me, which was not true and a investigation was conducted which prooved I was an outstanding Shift Coordinator. Shortly thereafter I requested that she be fired for slander and nothing came about of it.
Then to top things off, my two month old(well to me) was egged by one of my employees becasue I sent her home for trying to tell me how to do my job. Of course I didn't see her or who did it so I have no proof. I requested that she also be fired and nothing happed with that either.
To top everything off, I was assigned the Safty Coordinator title, which you get a bonus quartly and I still have yet to see that bonus. So with everything above, crew members calling off because 'they don't feel like working today' and being very unhappy with the company I decided to leave. Now mind you I started my quest in January for a new job. Being that I have insurence, car payment, cell phone, gas, ect. to pay for I couldn't just quit and take my time looking for a new job. Everything I listed started snow balling since May 05, and I finally got a call from Staples the day I got back from vacation.
I went to Staples a week ago and had an interview. Of course I know half the employees and all of the managers becasue I frequent there since it's right next door to BK. As of right now I'm on break on my first day. The department I was placed in is the CPC (Copy and Print Center). This is the most productive part of the store. To tell you the truth, I have always loved a good challenge, so I'm looking forward to actually working with customers.
Anywho, I though that you guys might want an update to where and how I've been. Have a good day everyone and take care!

HUH? Who is this guy? ^^
Has someone been gone?
Someone needs to tell this guy that this is an F150 Forum for F150 Trucks not Focusonline...
Just kidding with you Joe. Glad to hear things are going good and glad to see that you're back to posting again!

So sue me!
Actually, when I was cleaning my moms Taurus the other day, I was looking at my cars reflection from her rear bumper and the front of the Foci looks almost like a Taurus. Interesting.
Whiny *** kids are a major pain in the @$$ when it comes to management...
Then, don't be a black manager- because the black employees (Yeah, I'm telling on them; f' it.) expect you to "cut them some slack".
I had one employee; I'm going to have to get real to tell this story properly:
---------------------------------------------------------
This emmer-effer was ALWAYS calling off sick. His previous MGR (Also black) looked the other way, but- I play it by the book. I run a VERY tight ship- when it comes to attendance, tardiness and job-effectiveness.. Consequently, my team is often on auto-pilot, and I need only get involved when the doo-doo really hits the fan...
So, I started charging him sick days, until they were gone, and once they were- I warned him and started taking his vacation days (Corporate policy calls for this). He continues, so I put him on a 90-day PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) and advised him that his excessive absences needed to be curtailed; he got pissed. "Aw come on man- it's no yo' money. You know how it is, yadda-yadda-yadda..." I just looked at that stupid emmer-effer- as if I'm going to risk MY career to cover for him...
Well, he came in my office crying(literally); He was a pretty big guy, atheletic, muscular- and he always came in swole-up, like it was all he could do to keep from jumping on me... He's big, but I'm bigger; albeit a tad out of shape; so who knows- I might have lost....
Anyway, back to the story- he needed the time because of no daycare, his wife's schedule, her tripping because he was gone so much, yadda-yadda-yadda. I'm like- look man, I understand- but I cannot allow you to just call off work whenever you feel like it. I have 23 other people reporting to me- if I cut you slack, then they're going to start doing the same... I don't play favorites- so I cannot help you like that. I gave him teh number to the Employee Help Line, but the truth was- although I'm his boss from 08:00 - 18:00, after that- he's in charge. I can't run his personal life...
Consider also that he was rude to the 1st level supervisors, tardy, and darn-near untrainable, long lunches, etc... This put him high on the layoff list... But, by this time he'd begun open-dooring on me- to my boss; to the point that MY BOSS started believing him. I had her accusing me of being insensitive, and that I needed to consider the feelings of others... I could not believe my EFFING ears... He told her (And she apparently believed) that I was being hard on him because I'm black and he's black, and I don't want to be perceived as taking it easy on the black folks... I was so mad, I thought I was gonna either have a stroke, or turn into the Incredible Hulk. But, I am a manager, and a former NCO. I am professional- so I maintained my bearing.
My job is to enforce guidelines set by her, and corporate, yet- when the employees come to her whinning, I become the bad guy. So, even with a stack of evidence- I wasn't allowed to fire him... Eventually he went to another manager- (a white guy) this time- and after about 72-hours, that manager confirmed what I'd been tellign our boss for months.
Oh well- he got laid off, and my problems ended. But, my boss and I started clashing (She's black too). I figured it's best for me to move on, and when the opportunity arose- I did- but man; it's bad to have a boss that doesn't support you- but expects you to keep everything under control...
Damn- that felt good.... I needed to say that for about 6 months!!!

2. My GM was the biggest P***Y I've ever seen. For 'painting the picture' sake he was Puerto Rican. He was transfered to my store because he was on his last leg and if he didn't get my store turned around he would be gone. There were several times where he would be like "You're fired" and the next day they're at work. It was ALWAYS the same people calling off and getting away with murder. Didn't matter if you were a no-call-no-show for two, three, four days in a row, you still had your job. In the 564 days that I worked for Burger King, not once and I stress NOT ONCE did I ever call out, no-call-no-show, arrive to work late, skip out early, or do anything less than what was expected.
Now that bastard is doing an investigation on me for 'stealing money' because on my last day I closed the store at 8pm (instead of 11pm) and bought a Cake, Sodas(other than coke), and pizza. Boy will I have a lawsuit for him if he wants to try me. He obviously doesn't know me because I'm a lot smarter than I look.
Joe, Joe, Joe.
It's been quite a long time since we've exchanged posts. It sounds like you reached a reputable position at the BK, but you are just better than that. If the rest of the people had their act together as much as you do, I think you would've stayed... It's hard working with incompetent people, isn't it?
Say, wanna race Foci?
