Thank you very much. It is very nice to know that other people care this much about other people.

He said its coming back as owned by Enterprise Rental Car. When he gets back to the stations he said he will look it up again on his own instead of calling it in

That should be enough info for him to track down the renters. Call your local Enterprise giving them that plate number and tell them what happened. I'm sure they have an accident division or something that will follow up and be able to pull the contract of the time/date it happened. What will be really interesting is if it is a couple of lot guys joyriding in the rental on company hours and end up getting busted. Maybe that is why they ran. Enterprise should be able to at least help out a little though. I used to run a rental car office and that would've been enough info for me to pull the contracts and see who it was.

Ummm, no. Rental car companies do not leave a tag on a car that is going to be sold. The tag was stolen from another car on a rental lot, I'd suspect that the car was stolen as well.

Maybe the car was just recently purchased, or of course you coulod be right and the plate was stolen wich makes you wonder what they were up to. Joyride??
who knows HPD is kinda slow so it will be a while before he finds out most likely.
My friends dad works at the HPD and said that hit an druns unless they get somebody killed arent usually a priority for obvious reasons but hope they find them.
