My condolences to you buddy…

And just a reminder to all of us that when a solider pays the ultimate price that in doing so they give up their today for our tomorrow…

We wouldn’t be whom we are or where we are without these fine men and women who serve today, served in the past and in the future…

Sorry to hear RP. I know you must be devestated. Hang in there bud. My prayers go out to your friend and his family and friends. I've got a cousin in Iraq right now. And a Brother-in-law getting ready to go to Afghanistan. And a childhood friend over there somewhere. God bless them all.

It seems like the global war on terrorism takes on a much deeper meaning when it hits close to home just like this. Sorry for your loss.

It's not just the soldiers that sacrifice in war. Though they are the ones that often make the ultimate one. The families and friends of the soldiers carry a heavy burden as well. I have nothing but respect for the strength of character required to bear it well. My condolences RP. To you, and the family.

Thanks guys... I sincerely appreciate the kind words. It has been generally devistating to hear about this happening. Now to start reading about it and hearing of it on th news makes it even more tough. It's just really hard to believe that I talked to him 6 days ago...

While there are no words that will ever bring complete peace about this loss, if and when the time is ever right, please let his family know how much respect and appreciation the majority of us have for both his service, and his sacrifice.

The same goes for his brother and sister, and I think that we should all lift those two up especially in prayer along with the rest of the family.

With a tear struck eye I say thank you, and I apologize for the cost of these priveledges known as Freedom and Safety that we enjoy and unfortunately often taken for granted.

I'm going out right now to lower my flag to half mast! Old Glory will fly at 10' today in honor of a soldier that stood 10' tall when he was needed!

Nice bro

The American Flag flys in front of my house 24/7 for those who made the sacifice and for those who are serving. I am the only one who does this in my neighborhood. How sad is it that people cannot show more open respect for the freedom this country brings or the people who defend it.

RP I am saddened by your loss of a friend.

Thank you again folks. My perspective on a lot of things have changed as a result of this and it's ashame that it took something like this to really open my eyes to the reality of the sacrifice that our uniformed men and women give to our country. I know we all respect what they do and, for the most part, everyone supports them but, to see something like this rock a very small community (Morgantown, KY) and to see the heartache and pain that it's caused, it's really put it all into perspective.

Words can't express my sorrow on loosing my buddy/team mate/fellow referee but, I know he wouldn't have wanted to leave this earth any other way than supporting a cause that he believed in and had vested in. I know if he was over in Iraq a little longer that he would've had a soccer league running with the Iraqi kids... he was just that type of guy. Selfless. I know you guys didn't know him and I thouroughly respect your kind wishes and such but, trust me, we all lost a good human being, solider, and American.

Thanks again folks. Your kind words and actions have helped with this very difficult time.

=RP=

My buddy was buried today...

Just another request for prayers and thoughts guys/gals. There are alot of folks that he touched who are struggling with today's finality to this saga. Family, friends, and comrades...

There were very few dry eyes in the house and it was a very tough service to get through. Very tough.

Beyond my friend who gave the ultimate sacrifice to his country, keep our men and women in uniform in your prayers...

Consider it done here. I'm sure you've mentioned it to the family but there are a bunch of us out here that are profoundly grateful for his service and sacrifice.

My flag flys high and is lighted 24 hours a day 7 days a week for our soldiers.

God bless your friend and his family and friends.

RockPick,
Hang in there man, I feel your pain. My sisters husband was killed during the
first Iraqi war. I really sad part about it was that his ship was coming back and
it was a freight elevator accident on the ship that took his life.
There will be some sad times ahead, hang tuff and remember the good things
you'll shared. Good friends are hard to find.
We'll pray for ya and his family.
