While I'm nowhere close to being very good at it myself, I feel I should point out to you that you do have a habit of calling down people rather than gently encouraging them. Take it from me, you can't bully people into believing anything.

Yes, you are called to stand for truth, and no, you are not to compromise. Your call is to plant the seeds, and let the Holy Spirit grow the harvest. The old cliche' is true that you don't want to win the battle and lose the war.

I've found out the hard way that it only takes one act of hypocrisy to wipe out five hundred acts love and kindness. It's easy to get your skivvies in a bind while trying to defend your faith and stand up for your beliefs, but you need to keep this in mind. God doesn't need you to defend Him. He only wants you to serve Him. Serving Him is doing His will, and His will is that you share the good news. Witness to everyone, and use words when you have too.

Again, I'm probably not the person who should be writing this to you as I am uptight on a constant basis. It's just hit me this week how stuff like that looks, and how others react.

Oh, and you have to admit that Mighty Whitey does sound very racist in this day and age. You might consider a handle change if your pride would allow it. That's not a dig, just a friendly piece of advice since your refering to your truck. How about El Blanco de Hercules?

 

The word " Rapture " is not in the bible but it is explained very well in
the scriptures.

II Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven
with a shout ,( this is not the 2nd coming , that comes after the 7 year
tribulation ) with the voice of the archangel , and with the trump of God : and the dead in Christ shall rise first : Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up ( that's where the word rapture comes from )
together with Him in the clouds ...

I Corinthians 9:52 In a moment , in the twinkling of an eye , at the last trump : for the trumpet shall sound , and the dead shall be raised
incorruptible , and we shall be changed.

church I attend is black and white and I drive a church bus and pick boys

once the "rapture index" hits a certain point(wars, pestilence, false savior,etc,etc), all the chosen will be sucked up to heaven, leaving the rest of unworthy mankind behind to suffer the ravages of armageddon.

Ok, I guess you've missed the entire point of my last post.

You're playing John the Baptist, but you're unrightousness in doing so prohibits you from establishing your point. You get nowhere by saying something like this;

"Hey stupid unenlightened heathen, here's the truth and you're going to pay!"

I'm suggesting you approach people more like Paul. Remember when he went into the city full of pagan idols dedicated to "other gods"? Paul didn't come out and blast them, but rather REASONED with them. Jesus Himself commands us not to argue the truth, but rather to spread the gospel, and if someone is unwilling to receive it, we are to shake the dust off our feet and MOVE ON.

You're just the seed planter. You're not the Holy Spirit.

It's certainly not wrong to warn people of their condemnation, and the reality of hell, but if you have not LOVE, you are a resounding gong.

On your last point here, it wouldn't matter if I did know you. The fact is that this nation goes strongly with FIRST IMPRESSIONS. If my Mexican grandfather saw your handle, he wouldn't think you were talking about your truck. I certainly didn't know you were referring to it until this thread.

And guess what now? The several people that are scoping out this thread, are now thoroughly entertained that two people who supposedly worship the same God are bickering among themselves, so I am sorry I brought this whole subject up altogether.

So I'll leave it at this. Continue as you have been, and you'll spend your time getting called names, and scoffed at. It's not for rightousnesses sake that you'll be doing so.

I realize that. The farther this goes, the more fun I have. He can insult me and others here all he wants. He doesn't seem to realize that what is happening is one of the basic laws of physics. " for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction". In other words, all his negativity towards people who don't agree with his every utterance rebounds back in his face with equal force. Or to put it words he'll understand, " as ye sow, shall ye reap".
