Those Volvos sure do look alot better now than they used to when they were just a solid hunk of sheet metal

Congrats

Yep, AWD. I got the bug for this car after driving on the test track in Dearborn during the Centennial. Of course, I've actually already exceeded the max speed allowed during that event.

From the picture it seems you may be just a bit young to be driving....

In case you've ever wondered what I look like, picture my 3 year old son in the picture above slightly taller and a few pounds heavier. Everyone calls him "mini-me.'

Nah, definitely not a Mustang type. While I do love the new body style and think it is a real bargain for the performance, overall the car is too crude and the interior is way too spartan with not enough luxury. (i.e. dual zone climate, memory seats, etc, etc) And, if I never have to deal with having to beg for a loaner vehicle when mine is in the shop for several days (ie the Ford, Nissan, Toyota ownership experience), I will be a very happy person.

Unfortunately, it's a slushbox. The car is probably a 65/35 split between my Wife and I (in terms of who drives it), so I had to compromise a little bit.

Good choice Steve-O! My family had 5 Volvo's at one time while I was growing up. My dad swore by them. With my background in insurance, and seeing some of the stuff I've seen in the fire service, I must say that you've done great with the purchase. You must have had the little one in mind more than you say you did when you were shopping.

My dad had a falling out with Volvo over some stupid issue and he sold all 5 of them within a month, and he's never bought another one. If I ever get hitched and have a few curtain climbers of my own, Volvo will be my only decision. I like their SUV's though...gotta remember the dogs!

Stay Safe!
