Next Monday I will have to say goodbye to you all.
Triton
Good luck with what you plan to do.
Don't give up on your dreams and goals. It took me till I was in my 40's the be where I wanted to be financially.
Just keep working hard you you will get to where you want to be too.

I know what you mean about the financial aspects...
I'm making payments on two Fords- costing me at least $1,700/month- (Notes, insurance, and gas) probably more if I tried to narrow it down to the penny... Throw in a mortgage that just as high, and the secondary costs of home ownership (property taxes, insurance, electricity, gas, water, phone, cable, HS-internet, maid, lawn service, American Homeshield, Brinks, etc..) throw in a new baby, and the other bills- and it becomes very clear that one can get by with a lesser vehicle... My wife thinks I'm lying when I tell her I'm thinking about trading the Expedition in on a Toyota Matrx... (Don't ask me why, but I LOVE that car) or a Ford Focus (Ditto).
I've thought long & hard about trading at least one of these in on a cheaper vehicle..
I'd LOVE to get back into a three-hundred & some dollar car note and get out of the 5's & 6's.
They are great trucks, but as Grandama used to say when you put more on your plate than you could comfortably eat. "Your eyes were bigger than your belly huh?!"
I'm about 3.5 years away from having lots of cash flow like I did prior to buying this house, and all this stuff- and I know I'll kick myself in the **** mentally if in 3.5 yeas I still have 18 payments left on a Matrix- when I could have my Expedition paid for. So, for now everythign gets paid, and there's a little extra to go out, or hit the movies every now & then. But I'm looking forward my "Good old Days" coming back- when I could pay all my bills, and still have $1,800 or so left out of each paycheck...
I'll never have two big-**** car notes at the same time again.

Sob...we love you, man!!!...
JK...seriously, though, you sound like you've got your head on straight. We all make mistakes, all that matters is you learn from them. The truck was a financial drain, you're lucky to be out from under.
Good luck whatever you end up driving.

Thanks! I'm acually very excited to get a new start to my life! I'm acually thankful I got a lemon from Ford, or else I would be stuck with it and my huge payments for it for 6 years, but they are great trucks, and I love them to death, but I have to give up something to be able to get a new start, and the truck was the one I now have to give up. Still not sure what kind of car I want, a lot of people are telling me a Honda since there reliable, and great on gas, but I have doubts about owning a Honda just yet, I have time to look still...
I'll miss this board, but I'll be back as soon as I settle in and get another computer! Have a good one guys!!

Triton- you have no worries with a Honda....
You can't go wrong with a Civic, Sentra or Corolla.
I've seen Honda's on the road that have been wrecked- the hood looks like an upside down V, and they still drive it, un repaired (except the headlights, everyday...
I wonder what you have to do to a Honda car, to kill it.
