Good, let them. Maybe they will have an over supply of trucks and the price will go down.

I seen a almost new tahoe z71 yesterday forsale for pretty cheap. I am thinking about getting it. I will not give in and buy a gas saver
Ya after i fill up and pay through the nose for gas, it makes me want to get on my truck a little more and suck a little more gas because it pisses me off. Its sad to see how much a person pays a year for gas. I put on about 20,000 miles and at $2.25 thats right around 4500 bucks in a year.

I say if you cant run with the big digs then stay on the porch... I'd LOVE to have an H1. But I know that I don't want to have the payments, insurance, then gas too.
So I don't have one.. "yet".
If/when I do the it will be a time when I can afford to have it with out whining. I'm not that big of a dog.
so I'll run with the F-150 pack..

Well I just bought a '93 Impreza tonight which will do nicely for work. I used to need the space and had a use for the Expedition. My hobbies have changed and I'm going in for the el cheapo car and an ok motorcycle combo for my traveling requirements. If I have to haul anything, Home Depot rents trucks out at $19.95 an hour.

If gas keeps going up, alternative fuels will become more attractive. I really don't want to drive an electric car but I wouldn't mind having a still in my back yard

I have had ZERO trouble with the Expy...can't complain at all about that. I will be will be either selling it outright or auctioning it off.

You guys have been great. I like this board because on the whole it's pretty clean and the flames are not overwhelming.

Peace..

When I got my drivers license in 1988, gas was about $.89 a gallon. I was 16, had a crappy part time making less than $5 an hour. I managed to afford gas. Now minimun wage is, what almost $7 an hour? Yes that gas prices are higher, but every one is making more money. Or so it seems. Inflation.

The gas prices do suck. I feel pretty fortuate that I don't have to use my F150 as a daily driver. I also picked up a winter beater that I think I'm going to keep on the road as long as it runs and drives. It's a POS Toyota 4X4 pick up with a V6, and really doesn't get much better mileage than the F150. With the mods to the F150 I have to use 93 in it, while the Toyota can run on 87, so it's a bit cheaper in that respect. I get to an from work in a company E250. The company pays for the gas. Talk about sucks. This van, with the 5.4 gets between 11 and 14 mpg. These gas prices don't make doing buisness any easier. I might not care as much but my father owns the company and I may soon.

I don't blame anyone for getting rid of a V8 to get into something that's better on gas. I'm not so sure this is temporary though.

I know the feeling as gas is getting way too high I been thinking of getting rid of the truck and going back to a Mustang GT I got to have a V8 as the GT would get a little better mileage than the truck but for now I am sticking with the truck as it is paid for but if gas get to 3 bucks a gallon in TN I will go ahaed and get a GT
