Some of the laws in Louisiana (honestly):

Biting someone with your natural teeth is "simple assault," while biting someone with your false teeth is "aggravated assault."

Condoms may not be thrown from parade floats during Mardi Gras.

I know; unbelievable but true. Hence the statement "only in Louisiana"...

And in response to Vader716 . . . Maryland is a Southern State if the Mason Dixon Line is the criteria.

In my mind the line is closer to the NC/ VA border. I've been to Baltimore and it's a nasty, Northern city. Ain't nuthin' Southern about Baltimore.

I know. But if I had a choice, I'd live in New Mexico or the Arizona desert. One day...

So does yo' momma.

I'm not even from the South and can say I'll never live back up there again. Most, not all, but most of the people are colder than the weather. BRRRR.

I strive to stay south of the Carolinas and east of the Mississippi whenever I can. Whenever I (a) Get myself and my finances together or (b) Retire, which will be a long ways down the road, I'm moving to the Georgia coast, like around Savannah or maybe St. Marys.

I was born in rural Ga. and raised in Florida. I have traveled all over the south east and north east. Here are some of my observations.

North- All of the roads are in crappy, bone jarring condition, they look like an endless maze of jigsaw puzzles put together with black caulk. Northern states are expensive, everythng is a tax on top of another tax, especially New England and New York. There are signs everywhere "Speeding fines doubled, tax on a tax, don't do this or that, etc. etc. Ohio is the crappy restaurant capital of the world, I've never had anything good in Ohio unless it was home cooking. Illinois, Indiana, Iowa are almost the same million square mile corn field with Interstates down the middle. I still like every northern state for it's beauty, they are just all kind of weird in ways.

South- Smartass truckers all over the place, chrome shops, waffle houses, cheap redneck baseball caps at every convenience store, every Wal Mart SuperCenter is packed 24/7 so is every Cracker Barrel restaurant. IF you drive in Atlanta, there is 8 lanes, the far right lane is for 60mph and less, the other 7 are for 90mph plus, and the far left lane is for 90mph plus in the world's junkiest car that is clay stained. That's the lane to floor your 77 Chevy Nova with bad leaf springs and bald tires that's blowing blue smoke as you deafen the whole world with your $20K stereo playing the new Ludacris CD.

And then there is Florida, a state which has taken a nose dive in the last 20 years or so. It's a little of every state in one. We have some crappy restaurants, some smartass truckers, underbuilt roads, and 20 miles inland it's like being in the middle of nowhere. Driving through the Everglades is just like driving through Illinois, it's just wetter. We get new meaningless taxes everyday and more and more stupid liberal laws such as "no smoking in public places". And then there is driving with all of the transient fair weather morons. The New Yorkiers don't use turn siganls and they floor it to the next light, Georgians make turns on two wheels and run red lights, Michiganders apply their own driving rules to our state and break all of the laws because "that's how we do it in Kalamazoo" and Ohioans don't know the difference between the brake and gas pedals. Florida should be known as "The Flying Circus State"

No offense to anyone, that's just what I notice. I know that not everyone from these states are that bad. Florida has plenty of native idiots too.

So I'm not crazy? I thought I was the only one who knew this?,,,,98

TX West of San Antonio is just as bad. First you have to FIND somewhere to eat. Once you do, you'll wish you packed a few sandwiches the night before.......

Kobiashi,

Good pic, I know technically we are southern here in Maryland but it seems like perception is that Virginia is the last true southern state.

Just figured it was a good time to get some opins from our deep southern neighbors.

And Rocky you are right about Baltimore, but on your way up just drive around it....it is a cess pool of violence and drugs. I go in for the Ravens and that is it.
