Have SUV's peaked? The downward spiral begins...

Found this interesting... http://www.detnews.com/2005/autosins.../A01-90583.htm

So, crossovers are the new wave of the future? Bleh! If they didn't make the interiors of FULL-SIZE SUVs so damn small I'd prolly still have one.. maybe a nice 'Gator like my bro. But alas, this crappy interior ****pit design that encloses the driver has ruined SUVs for me. Pity.

I really Enjoyed my Expy. It was identical to my '97 F-150. Only diff was the bed was covered and I had lots more seats. I don't get the SUV haters... full size SUVs rule. If the Excursion had a decent dash, I would have loved one of those monsters...

This article is more focused at the full-size SUV decline: http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/...-12-suvs_x.htm

I don't hate SUV'S, I would just pick a truck over an SUV since you can do more with a truck then you can an SUV (IMO) not to long ago, my mother picked up an 05 Escape Hybrid, thats a very nice small SUV though and I can't believe how nice it is driving that hybrid around in town, it is so quite since the mother does not turn on until it hits 25mph!

I love this term "crossover"

theyre AWD station wagons.

I can just hear the sales reps now... "no sir, thats not a station wagon... its a crossover vehicle"

like somehow that changes the fact that these are what AMC was doing 25 years ago.

I saw an AMC Eagle AWD yesterday. It resembles a cross over vehicle for sure!

I like trucks and SUV, and the crossovers..

I guess I'm just easy to please..

Full-Size SUV's typically fair better in an accident than trucks do; if you don't believe that: www.abcnews.com.

Full-size luxury cars fair even better than SUV's (Because they are heavy and they don't have a rollover tendency).

Although I'm not setting out to have a wreck, I do want to be in a combination of the safest and coolest vehicle, that I can afford.

Cost no object, I'd be driving an S500, S600, 745Li or an Audi A8-L.
