Looking for a dog, any ideas
My medium size dog, only notice the shedded hair in the dryer lint trap when we wash certain blankets, doesn't bark much, gentle as can be with the kids, thinks he's a lapdog, loves to ride in vehicles (lays down while driving to lower his center of gravity, sits back up when we slow down), best darn dog I've ever had & when his time comes we will get another from the same breeder.... Winston McDuff III, the English Bulldog!

Another place to check is dog rescue groups. You can go to certain sites that have rescue groups for specific breeds.

AWWW. A rabbit.
Sad Story.
I think mine got swept up by an owl one night.
His name was Snowflake. White with bright pink eyes. He thought he was a lap dog too. He didnt want a cage, didnt want to be in the house, he only wanted to be outside in the yard...
I went outside one evening to check his food and water, I noticed there was an owl in the pecan tree, and Snowflake was under my shed. I scared the owl off...next day....no Snowflake
All I have is memories.

That was Carrot (our daughter named him). He actually passed away a week or so before Christmas, he was only a couple months old. My mom gave him to my daughter, she bought him for $5 at a garage sale out where she lives (farm country). Although he had a short life he was a happy bunny & well loved.

People at work think I'm loosing my mind. That made me laughed so hard. That was wonderful, poke them with a stick. It is true, they are lazy buggers.

They are worthless but very lovable dogs! Mine lived for 18 years.
Sleep all night & day, wake up to play & eat in the afternoons, then go back to sleep. LOL
We also had a "pound puppy" that was part wire hair terrier, part dodge dart. We didn't know what he was. I mean, other than crazy.
I did a photo search on "dog" just to see if I could post a funny dog pic.
This came up on the first page and made me laugh.
This is proof that when considering which type of dog to get, this guy illustrates an important consideration; get a dog that is useful.

THATS IT!
I'm getting a LAB. I was wanting to get a Border Collie, but someone mentioned they are "bad dogs" as pups and will tear everything up. NOT GOOD.

Yeah, our Aussie has the same traits, only not nearly as 'edgy' as a border collie is. Even being a toned down border collie, an australian shepherd still can wreck a place if left alone with energy and nothing to do. If you want a dog to follow you everywhere, get an aussie. We can't even go to the bathroom without her being in there with us. Dog is a freakin genius though...
^^^...Thats how my lab is. I take a shower and hes sleepng on the bathroom floor, I go to take the garbage out and hes always right there by my side. The best of all is, he knows the sound of my truck and hears me coming down the road. I see him sitting in the front window until i get out of the truck and then he runs to the front door to greet me as soon as I open it. Hes awesome
Jamzwayne,
Don't let the cute Lab pics fool you. I am currently on my 5th Black Lab. She is 4 months old and 45 lbs and is a WILD DOG
She bangs on the back door at 1100pm every night (thats when I get home from work) until I let her in to play for a while.
She terrorizes my 6year old 3 legged Black Lab (but they act like mamma and daughter even though they aren't)
She has eaten $80.00 worth of large dog pillow beds, chewed rose bushes, thorns and all, and has just recently started standing on her back legs to take stuff off of the 4' tall bar.
Every Lab I have ever owned is a PITA when a puppy, but I have learned over the years, the more mischievous they are as puppies, the smarter they are as adults.....This one is gonna be a genious
Oh, BTW I would not trade her for anything

I have no idea what a Maltese is like, we generally prefer larger dogs so I have no experience with smaller ones. I do know a lot of small dogs are prone to barking. Casey and Jake (the Wolf Hybrid we had) hardly ever bark(ed). The Aussie mix we had did bark but only when there was something to bark at. I would like to get a small dog, I think Papillions are adorable. Anyone familiar with these little guys?:
