0-60 times for Trucks

Updated: I want to know about trucks OTHER THAN the F250 and it's competitors.

Have any autmobile magazines done 0-60 test with trucks unloaded and then loaded?

I ask this because I heard (so I can't attest for it being true or not) that the F250 with the 6.0L Diesel had it's (rear end) handed to it doing quarter mile runs until the test people strapped on a 10,000 pound trailer.

I thought I heard it was something like 8 or 9 seconds. While it's not Viper fast it's still not bad for heavy truck. I can still keep up with my buddies Sunfire that makes him mad. Oh well life goes on.

I think the only way an F-250 will hit 60 towing a 10,000 lb trailer in 8-9 seconds, is if someone dropped it out of a C-130 from 20,000 ft.

The F-150 won't run to 60 in 8 seconds with the 300 HP 5.4L; so it's hard to imagine the F-250 clipping the lights faster...

I won't say it's impossible, just improbable...

According to Motor Trend, the F250 is the daddy.

It's a darn shame that the F-250 is faster than my Expedition w/5.4L

Lets put it this way. That 6.0 will run against most gas engines. My friend has a 2004 supercrew with the 6.0 and it flies. I raced him with my 99 4.6 and was humiliated. That torque shift transmission will keep you in the back of your seat all the way up to 90. I bet it will take our 00 with 5.4 or the 04 with 5.4.

Should I take that as a "No, vehicle comparison magazines/shows/sites don't do 0-60 or quarter mile runs with trucks towing trailers"?

I would have to say that I would find it very odd for anyone to be testing a truck, any truck even a Lightning, for 0 – 60 with a trailer. I wouldn’t think that would do the transmission a lot of good…

A lot of us, me especially, complain about Fords lack of power. Well, I guess when it comes to towing having the highest horse power and torque numbers isn't necessarily the way to get the job done. I guess it's how you put the package together. With 560 lb/ft it's a better tow vehicle than one with 590 lb/ft and one with 600 lb/ft? I think that 325 hp and that 5-speed automatic make very efficient use of the 560 lb/ft.

Now Ford, not all of us need to tow so can you engineer performance for the rest of us?

Trailer Boats Magazine tests trucks with trailers attached. 0-60 with and without trailers, etc.

Here's a page with some test results:

HI!... All I know is that my F-150 does 0-60MPH in 5.6 seconds. Now that I have NITTO's and a 3000 stall, I'm hoping for a 5.0 even.
