THE PAIN ! ! !
I think I might be over doing it a lil bit. I know I should feel sore the first few weeks of working out, but I am giving my body plenty of rest. I am still sore from my leg workout LAST Wednesday.
Maybe I'm getting older and my body needs "more" time to recover then when I was in my 20's?
What do you guys/gals think?

That means you WAY over did it. Lemme guess - you slapped on all the weight you remember last instead of starting out with a quarter of it?! You should never be sore for that long... normally your body should only need 48 hours between working the muscle group again.

I'm Jeremy and I'm a husky sob. 26, 5'9 and am weighing in at 265lbs now.
Over the past year I've noticed it's become a pain in the *** to put shoes on. I struggle with my hockey equipement. I had to try on 7 different types of Dockers to find a pair that looked half-way decent. Clothes that used to fit I've had to start doing the fat mans strech (you fat guys know what I'm talking about... putting a clean shirt on, you insert arms into shirt and tug on it to stretch it out before putting it on). It's depressing.
I can seem to get motivated to do anything because I'm ALWAYS tired. All my friends hang out later at night which means I usually get 5 hrs of sleep, max. I'm single so I live the bachelor lifestyle and don't have anyone on my case. I eat out about 5x a week and have a constant flow of beer from this...

And yes, that is actually my kegerator in that pic.
What I'm afraid of is having complications with my health later in life. I just don't have the motivation to do anything... and I'm being nieve (sp) thinking I'll start working out soon... but the weight keeps adding up.
It's depressing... I need to get laid.

Week 5 Results
Week 5 Results & Update (Fri Feb 18) 4.6 Pound Loss
The Last 5 weeks in review:
Friday January 14th = start date = weight was 333.0 pounds
Friday January 21st = 318.4 pounds
Friday January 28th = 313.4 pounds
Friday February 04th = 308.6
Friday February 11th = 302.2
Friday February 18th = 297.6
If losing weight was easy, everyone would be slim.
This is by far the hardest thing I've ever done, but my focus and determination keeps me going.
I feel a remarkable improvement in my physical (and mental) well being, I sleep better, and for the first time in years, I can almost see my dink cuz my belly is going down LOL
Today was 32 days in a row at the gym, and this past week I've started doing double cardio workouts.
I started doing 20 minutes on each of the following machines:
- treadmill (4.0 MPH w a grade of 2.5
- Bike / 20 minutes / level 10 of 20
- rowing machine / level 10 of 10
For the last 6 days, I've started doing 40 minutes on each of the 3, and every other day I add weights to my program.
Reading all your guys (and girl) stories are a real inspiration to me, and help keep me going, I thank you for this.
I hope the rest of you fat fawkers are keeping well and being successful in your endeavor.
Until next week...
Regards

Jut got to 219 yesterday. Down from 245 at the first of the year.
Ive also lost about 6 inches in my waist. Im gonna have to go shopping soon.
Snack Tip: Pickles are very low in calories, I eat them when im feeling hungy and have a while before my next meal.

Good job to all those improving. Habibi, you suck. Man I really wish I had the time you do to workout. Keep up the good work man. You are an inspiration to those of us still fat bastards.
Good tip but how do you get around the kids eating them all (my daughter loves pickles).
In looking over my calorie sheets from the last 4 weeks I have found out that Saturday & Sunday are my worst days & Mondays I eat like 1/2 of my next lowest day. I never intentionally plan Mondays that way. Maybe its a guilty consiounce(sp?) from the weekend.

Quick update. Things are still imroving although at a much slower pace than when I first started. I know allow myself to "cheat" every once and a while (went out to eat on V-tines day) but still keep on my diet 90% of the time and play basketball as much as possible. My current weight is 230, down 20lbs from my starting weight of 250 at New Years. Keep up the good work everybody, especially Habibi...Wow!
