I like iPods, but I don't like hard-drive players for the gym. Too fragile in a harsh environment.

Get a good 128 or 256MB player for her. They are quite small so they won't interfere with her workout. And it should cost a lot less than $100.

I use a small 128MB player for the gym, I think it's an iRock. The AA battery lasts forever (I replace it like once per month, only use it at the gym), and with 128MB you can fit about two albums on there if encoded at 160kbps.

Beany, It's a cool idea and it appealed to the gadget geek in me too, but from my experience most Oakley products are flimsy, tacky, overpriced junk. Most of their new model glasses are for small faced people and that pisses me off. I think it was available in 128 and 256MB.

Speaking of gadget geek, I found this and had to put it on the xmas list...

WOW, I actually think those look pretty damn cool....

Although I must admit, I'd be hard pressed to shell out 5 C-notes for what, 256megs (or was it 128? doesn't matter)?

Thing about Oakleys though, you do have to take meticulous care of them... I have two pairs that I really love, but I admit, they aren't the most sturdy glasses out there... Maybe the X-metal series, but I never pitched out for 'em.

I will agree though, they do tend to favor those with little heads...

I was pissed when my last pair of frogskins broke and they told me that they had discontinued them so they could only give me credit towards another model (they were under the one year warranty). I tried on all the new models but they are all too small for my massive head. Screw Oakley i'll try Rayban.

Anyway, another great agdget from circuit city I saw this weekend and boguth as a present for someone else...

ahahhahaha NICE!

Although I'd be wicked paranoid about forgetting that in my pocket when getting on an airplane (and thereby being detained for questioning for x hours...)

Not that I fly often, but enough...

Not to bring this topic back from the dead or anything.... but I went to Circuit City to check out the Oakleys... I must admit, my finger was on the credit card, but it's just a weeeeeeee to expensive for what it offers.

It has a battery life of UP TO 6 hours depending upon a variety of factors (type of music file, oddly enough, volume, etc.). The way the earbuds slide out is kinda cool, it's like a slow hydraulic arm that extends the buds into your ears for positioning. Not even sure how good the sound quality is. I would have spent more time looking it over, but the display case was in a high traffic area, thus, kind of annoying.

Excellent idea, maybe when the price significantly drops I'll pick a pair up. Ideally, they should be just like the X-Metal Romeo's on MI2...
