I just got back from my vacation in Maine and New Hampshire about 10:00 pm Tuesday night, so I missed the entire storm. We were worried that we may not get to fly in when we were supposed to because they had Jacksonville Internation Airport closed due to high winds. Luckily it had opened back up and we were able to get home. We had some other delays at the other airports, but we still made it back about an hour late.

We kept in contact with both of our parents. Mine said that they had no power for 26 hours and I noticed some branches and small trees down in several places. We talked to my fiances parents and they said that they moved my company car since I had left it there. They said shortly after, a tree or a big limb fell right where the car had been.

I felt kind of bad because both of our parents were down here going through a hurricane and it was some of the most beautiful weather up in Maine and NH. But anyways, I am ok and so is all the rest of my family as no one had any major damage that I know of.

I ain't dead.

We lost power for about 60 hours here on the Broward/Palm Beach county line. The worst was from about 9 PM Saturday until 9 AM Sunday. The wind would not stop. I've been through hurricanes before, but never have I had to sit through howling winds and driving rain for 12 hours.

We went on generator Saturday and ran it on and off until the power was restored to us on Monday night. We didn't suffer too badly, and managed to keep the refrigerator and freezer cold. There was no damage to out house, but there was a lot of damage to trees and such. We cut branches and raked debris for two days. About two hours after we finished the cleanup the power came back on.

Yesterday afternoon they picked up most of the trash, and I mowed the lawn. It looks llike nothing happened; but I'm not taking my shutters down until IVAN is gone.

I was very lucky. I know of a number of people who didn't make out nearly as well, including a neighbor who lost the entire roof off his business.

Gotta go-My handle isn't flafonman for nothing. We still have a ton of work to do getting cutomers online.

Good luck and God Bless.
