Uhg... everyone's sales are down this year. Have you seen the incentives by the domestics lately? Yes, I should have restated and said they are shipping more PRODUCT over here instead of cars. It's hardly a BMW crisis due to bandles design. A 7.7% drop in YTD sales = a big yawn. A 25% drop compared to the same month a year ago is more crap... time are tough this year. 25% isn't the biggest loss by an automaker when doing the silly month to last year comarpo.

And if you think Bangle could do damage before, now he's got even more power... yeah, he's screwing things up so they decide to put him in a place to screw up even more of their products? C'mon! BMW has admited in around about way that the new 7 was to bold for the market. They toned it down. The new 5 also reflects the more conservative approach.

As for the lower rating of the 525, I'm not surpised since that's too much car for that 2.5L I6. The 3.0L is considered adequate power... the 545 is the only way to go, but that's 60K+. Can't imagine why they aren't a high-volume car company...

 

Everyone's sales are down? Not as much as BMW. Their ugly designs and sagging quality are whats hurting them.

 

Everybody's hurting right now, and a number of new releases are not performing as expected. It's the economy. Every other day people are being let go. When you're forced to go from making $80,000 /year at say- Nortel, down to $28,500 as a store clerk at Wal-Mart; you can't go get that new 5-series; not an eat too...\

All I can say is- I like the new Bimmers.
Might get the new 430i coupe for the wife when it comes out.

If some of you guys like the looks of the new Bangle-mobiles, just wait a while and hit the used car lots. Once BMW redesigns the line again, they'll be giving those things away. Time will tell.
