Back the truck up because you’re going the wrong direction…
I fully respect everyone’s position and/or opinions even when they are wrong. I don’t have anything against moderates except most of them “usually” tend to wait around and see what the “crowd” is doing and then jump in at the last moment to be a part of the “bigger” crowd.
There is nothing wrong with followers, leaders need followers or there would be no reason to have leaders. Actually I have no problems with moderates their just fun to tease since you never know which way they will take something. It’s a 50/50 chance with them LOL…
As far as voting for someone because of being from a particular party like Republican is not who I am or what I am about. I like you vote for the best possible candidate on election night. This time around, like usual, it will be the republican, the one looking out for our national security and not willing to back down like a coward, someone that will be looking out for ALL Americans, like those of us that bust our butt so we don’t have to carry the lazy as much as we use to, you know with higher taxes. So far this President is looking out for not only people like us here who bust our butt but the lazy as well. By giving them less money it means they have to go out and earn some money to survive and that’s always a good thing because it keeps them busy and gives them a feeling of self worth rather then sitting at home feeling sad eating 60 lbs of Ding Dong’s during an Oprah marathon. So not only will these formally lazy people gain self worth from supporting themselves and giving back to society they will lose weight as well which means they can go to McDonalds once a week to spend $10 or so and that in turn helps to grow the economy which in turns puts MORE money into the federal budget.
You see, by voting for the right man you not only save the lazy from themselves, their self pitty and over weight problems in some cases, but you also reduce the national debt.
It’s a win-win situation:
A vote for Bush = reduced national debt, reduced taxes, and a strong country
A vote for Kerry = higher taxes, higher national debt, and a family of terrorist in every neighborhood…
Do the right thing, vote right in November…

Would this be OK during a Clint Eastwood marathon? If not, I may need help.

We actually have a high national debt now, regardless of wether the reason is right or wrong. I doubt Kerry will get most of the taxes he wants passed, and that last comment is exaggerated a bit, quite a bit. Terrorism is actually up since GW took office!
I refuse to accept the stance from one side that the other is always wrong. I know you hate liberals, and I agree that most of what they are doing currently is a problem, but both liberals and conservatives have made this country what it is. I fear the day one or the other goes away, they keep each other in check.
A Day In The Life Of Joe Republican
Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.
All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.
Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees.
Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn’t think he should loose his home because of his temporary misfortune.
Its noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression. Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.
Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dads; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electric until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification.
He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.
He turns on a radio talk show, the host’s keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. Joe agrees, “We don’t need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I’m a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have”.

Poor ol Joe don’t realize he and his wife will have to work until their 90 something because of them nice liberals and all their taxes and regulations that raise the cost of living through the roof…
I don’t think ol Joe will be voting to work until 100 something so he won’t be supporting Kerry and his friendly taxes. You see ol’ Joe is smart and knows that a vote for Kerry is a vote to support all the fat cats that insure the poor stay poor while they, the fat cats, live in their big houses, eating their expensive food then drive around in their big gas guzzling SUV’S trying to figure out what frog or insect should be placed on the endangered list…

Just so you know I am having fun with you because you do have a sense of humor and don’t get all riled up like some, I do agree with the need for government oversight and regulations to a point.
It is essential to have safe food, drinks, air to breath, and be safe from big business taking advantage of us however there is a good chunk of oversight and regulations that are well beyond absurd. One example would be the many states and then the many cities within that state all dictating or trying to regulate the type and blends of gasoline people can buy due to air quality standards. There should be a few or maybe just one standard that is the standard for the whole country and it CAN’T be California’s goofy standards either…
I know I have said it many times so I will say it again. I, like you, vote for the best possible candidate running for office. I can tell you there will never be a candidate that would ever meet all my beliefs and standards and that includes President Bush so I have to look at all those in the line up, which is 2 maybe 3 and then decide which one meets “most” my beliefs and standards.
It just so happens that since the 80’s when I was first able to vote that the republicans had the candidate that met most my criteria. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are the “best” candidate just the best candidate in the line up…

Well, I'm voting for Kerry.
This war which is now clearly un-needed because of "poor intellegence" has cost us a LOT of Tax payers money that could be spent on more aggressive homeland Security.
I don't like the way Bush handled NK. Yes, I like the way Clinton handled it better and seems to be the same way Bush is now proposing.
I don't like how Bush is stretching our military Resources and playing politics with the military budget because he doesn't want to have to appropriate More dollars right now until After the election. Putting of much needed repairs and sending our troops used/beat up equipment.
I don't like how he turned a blind eye to Osama, the Real person behind 9/11, so he could pursue Sadaam.
Unemployment Rate still has hardly budged.
He had only big corporations in mind with his Drug bill that is so complicated it takes a Lawyer to understand it. Plus he mis-represented what it was actually going to cost us by 40% and didn't even try to negotiate lower prices from the drug companies (proving he only has the Big Corporations to Really take care of).
Deficit
Huge loss of manufacturing jobs
Environment
Trying to allocate government funds to Religious based organizations. I'm totally for Seperation of Church and State.
His inability to admit he has Ever done Anything wrong. That's just a sign of character in my book as well as his history with drugs, alcoholism, his failings in business, etc.
Health care in this country is Embarassing! Something Real needs to be done. If we're going to spend all this money on taxes, we might as well get something out of it.
Cheney has ties to Haliburton (20 million dollar Severence, etc.) Haliburton somehow got all these contracts with No Bids and is now ripping us off. That was probably the best 20 mil they ever spent.
I like Edwards. Kerry has an admirable record as John McCain even said himself. He was actually in a war and didn't Dodge it as I believe Bush did.
I'm not trying to persuade anyone here. I'm just voicing my opinions. This board obviously has a more conservative slant but you have to know it's not a true representation of the entire nation. Bush lost the popular vote. Polls show Bush and Kerry Very close. It'll be another tight election.
If the tables were turned and it was Gore that made all of the same decisions Bush did, I'd be voting for the Republican running against him. That's the truth!

The most honorable period I have served in the military was and is during both Bush Presidencies. Although both committed to war, it was for the correct reasons. I personally and professionally don't think Kerry has the strength to send a country to war or lead a country in peace. I make this opinion based off his conduct during his campaigning and personal attacks on President Bush. He will cower if elected. Those who think the war in Iraq was unjustified have not been to Iraq to see the conditions in which the people lived and a fledgling democracy. It's like giving new found freedoms to a nation over night. The military is stretched thin but the burden will be carried. Also highly recommend you do not put too much faith in what the papers and TV report. Remember, they sell sensationalism and will broadcast what brings them viewers.
Check this out. More Americans die everyday in the city of Los Angeles than they do in the entire country of Iraq. You don’t see that advertised do you?

Great googlie-mooglie! This poll is a lot closer than I expected it to be.
It just goes to show which group of people don't show up on election day. Come on people, get out and vote dammit. If you sit around and bitch about how the country is going to hell in a handbasket, but don't vote... You are the reason it's happening!
The left shows up at the polls at a much higher rate than the opposition. That's why polls that include "likey voters" are always so much closer than loose polls including an actual blind sampling. America does not lean to the left; but, we allow the left to pick our leaders through inaction on election day.
Will the real America please stand up?
