what should i do?

i bought a used microtuner from someone on ebay. i asked specifically in emails if it was VIN locked and if it was the tri-tune version. he replied and said it was not locked and that it was the tri-tune. anyways, i got it, and of course, its VIN locked and it has a manufactured date of 11/02 (not a tri-tune). when i asked him about it he says "all sales are final". i contacted my bank and got a charge back. now here is the question. since i have my money back, do i send him the unit back so he can scam someone else, or do i just toss it? i need to call the bank to see what they have to say about it, but i dont think they will really care. what are your opinions?

he left positive feedback for me before i recieved the item, then when i got it and he wouldnt work with me, i left him negative. he did a follow up feed back or whatever and said negative stuff, so i dont know how that will affect my feedback rating (14 positives so far). oh well, anyone know how much it costs for Superchips to unlock a VIN locked tuner? i might just get a tuner out of this after all...

That's a tough one. The right thing is to send it back, but he tried to rip you off, so if you keep it, that's one less person that is going to get ripped. I say keep it, try to get it unlocked, and beat that guy down if he ever comes looking for it.

Keep it till you get your money back! Then send it back to him COD.
Then keep an eye on his auctions on ebay & see if he tries to sell it again & contact the people bidding on it & tell them what happened to you!

good luck!

I say keep it. He lied. He will wait until the buyers can't see your auction and resell it.
Did you also report him to E-bay. If not I would.
