I will be voting out these high gas prices and this pointless war in November. I was a Bush voter in '00, I'll be a Kerry voter in '04.

Voting Out High Gas Prices with Kerry??

Then you better know a little bit about Kerry. He hasn't met a tax he wouldn't support. He has co-sponsored higher gas tax bills.

A vote for Kerry will be a vote for HIGHER gas prices at the pump. Might not be the oil companies upping the price but you can rest assured his very close environmental wackos friends will see to it that the TAX on gas goes up.

Remember Kerry is much more liberal then Algore could ever dream of, and Kerry absolutely agreed with Algore when Algore had stated something to the affect in his book about higher gas prices are good for the environment because it would FORCE people to conserve on oil consumption and that goes for winter heating fuel as well.

If you so eager to give you money away freely then start sending a personal check to Washington I am sure they will accept it with a smile. You can do that now, or vote for Kerry and you will be FORCED to do so…

I saw $1.85 for regular at a Conoco in Aurora, CO today after school.

Average is right around $2.00 for regular.

Higher Prices, SUV's & GAS TAXES

Remember Kerry does not own any SUV's, HIS FAMILY DOES. LOL
What a swine. Taxes on gas pacify the greenies, the democratic party's second largest contributor. It won't bother him a bit to pay more at the pump. He is rich beyond belief, thanks to his wife's family.

Where do I start with this BS? Let me see. The government has been trillions in debt for over 30 years. The surplus was a pie in the sky deception of the American people. A surplus for one year does not mean you are out of debt. Please get your facts straight because if you do not it makes you look like this:

When Bush took office the Usa had a national deficit of 4.5 trillion. Look up the # at the Treasury dept web site. The surplus was like Frank S said, a deseption, funny math to make the # look good for election. Today it is something like 7 trillion, but that includes the war and all the money spend responding to 9/11 that Clinton didnt have a backbone enough to avoid on his watch.
And gas here in mid MI is 2.11 for 89.

Sled...

To far to ride you bike to work then change your job, no one is forcing anybody to work at a particular place of employment, are they?

Sure oil companies are making money that’s why they went into business. However your local governments are making lots of money off you as well for every gallon you pump and NO they are not always using the to keep up the roads they use if for anything they wish to use it for.

Upset about the gas prices then start writing you local representatives and tell them to build more refineries, to start pumping the oil out of OUR grounds, to build more nuclear power plants, or wind mill farms if you like those, tell them that you want back all your tax money you pay at the pump that is not directly related to the upkeep and maintenance of roads and bridges, tell them to scrape all these different EPA clean air requirements that states are setting and have ONE EPA standard for gasoline. If everyone wants to meet California (toughest in the nation) standards then fine make it a federal standard used in all states.

That will reduce the cost of production since all refineries will be making one blend of gasoline instead of hundreds of blends for every nutcase environmental wacko that wants to feel like they have POWER over the people.

Some people talk about the oil companies have big time power have no clue who has the power in this country which is many radically groups of individuals that represent a very few people but have big mouths like John Kerry.

You think we have high gas prices now just imagine John Kerry as President and today’s prices will be a distant dream of “The good ol’ days”

”You have the power to fight the big mean oil companies, simple STOP driving gasoline burning vehicles…” Burt [/B]
I have great respect for you bro but.....
"Sometimes you go overboard with quotes like the ones above: no one is forcing anybody to drive vehicles that consume gasoline. They have electric vehicles and bicycles that will provide transportation just as well." get real!!

AND the Best one:"To far to ride you bike to work then change your job, no one is forcing anybody to work at a particular place of employment, are they?". Now while not being FORCED to work anywhere i have a great job that does me well been there 20 years now i am not being forced to work there but i CHOOSE to work there and i also CHOOSE to live in the country which is a fair distance away, so riding a bike(like that's going to happen) or things like "no one is forcing you to drive a gasoline powered car" etc.. is like listening to a guidance councilor i had in 9th grade.
Bro this is the real world we are not china, japan whatever we don't ride no stinkin friggin bikes to work. Exon/mobil made 77 billion in just profit last year thats after all there costs, there is no justification for that kind of profit they are simple PIGS>

We are being forced to drive GAS powered vehicles because oil has back burnered and bought off all ideas of alternative power systems to keep OIL the only viable source of fuel for ever..

buckdropper:

My good friend you have to look at my comment about nobody is forcing you to drive gasoline powered vehicles in the entire context of my post…

People cry all the time how they have “no power” to change things or possible make things better and that is one example to simple stop driving gas burning vehicles. People have a choice if they wish to exercise it.

Kind of reminds me of people who cry about what is going on in government but never vote. Anyhow if you read my post I never take complete blame for high fuel prices away from oil companies. They indeed may be making to much profit but that’s the real world.

You don’t like it and I don’t like it but not much we can do if we stay on our current path of driving gas powered vehicles. Now, you say they make “to much” profit right? So who gets to decide what percentage of profit is ok and not ok?

If your for some how regulating how much profit one can make then that is the same for how much money someone gets paid for employment. You make a salary and I make a salary so who gets to set the limit? Everybody’s salary has a profit in it, yours mine and just about everyone including those getting welfare checks.

So how would our profit be regulated? There is no debating we make a profit in our salary or we would not own the vehicles, homes and other things we do. People may not look at it as a profit but it is because a profit is anything over basically “normal operating cost” We only required a certain amount of nutrition a day so everyone can eat the same diet and that cost would be fixed for every individual. We only need shelter to sleep and there is no reason that everyone’s shelter can not be identical. It doesn’t cost no $200,000 plus for shelter, a simple tent would work fine.

Do you see where I am going with this? There is no reason why anybody in sports should be making over say $50,000 a year since they are playing a game that really doesn’t help the country or their community.

Just pointing out that if you want to take the choice away from the individual person and instead regulated what a business/individual can make for profit then you should be prepared to have your own salary regulated as well by those on the outside looking in.

Don’t get me wrong I think oil companies are making a good profit off us but there are others right there in the troft making a damn good profit off the backs of us as well at the oil pumps and that is our government…

Personally I think its time for very tough regulation on the government…

You also have to admit it is people like you and I who are directly related to the reason fuel prices are higher because of the vehicles we chose to drive. I want to maintain my ability to pick what I want to drive and not have it mandated to me, how about you?
