Weee a computer thread, Now I can tell my story and not be off topic.

I was building a new computer after I got back from basic. A real nice powerful computer. When I finally got all the peices in and ready to go I started installing windows xp. But an error message came up with 3 minutes left to go. Everytime I tried to install windows the message would come up, it was a little different each time but basicaly the same. But the longer it was on for, the faster the message would come up when I tried to install windows. So first I thought the case might be too hot so I got another fan and watched the tempature, but it still happened. So then I figured it was my windows xp copy, and I stress the word copy. It wasn't that because my friends copies didn't work either. So I was pretyy upset, here was 1200 dollars going to waste. So I let the computer sit for about 2 weeks, let my blood settle down (I get pretty excitied when my computers don't work) So I finanlly called the mother board company, and the told me to take everything out of the case but the MB and video card, and I told them thats what I was running on. Then the told me to update BIOS. Now mind you we are comunicating through email so this was taking a while. Updating BIOS took me about 10 minutes, and windows installed no problem. So 2+ months latter I finally had my awsome computer. 5 days later I was called up and left home. I haven't touched it since.

The moral of the story I wasted 1200 and many stressful days on a computer that was outdated a while a go. No joke, it runs off an AMD and AMD just announced their 64 bit processor. DOH

Computer thread???!!!???

I used to be a Mac user. Then when Windows XP came out I switched to it. My Dell blew away my Mac speed wise and when OSX came out I wasn't all that taken by it...it was bloated and really ran slow...the processor in the macs at the time were barely powerful enough to run the OS...and frankly I liked XP better.

However....

Yesterday I played with this...

that had this bad boy attached to it...

And I must say...

The dul 2Ghz G5 running Panther is SWEET....and FAST.....

and that 23" HD Cinema display is really SWEET.

It is taking every drop of will power to keep me from buying this system....

Other than the display, there's better stuff out there for the PC.
Or, you can get something now and upgrade later and not have to buy a completely new system

Try the disk. I use to have a voodoo 3. It was a good card. Your best bet is to use the disk. The driver will more than likely be installed when you run the setup on the disk.

Dell has a great support website. They are one of the few computer manufacturers I can say that about. Here are all the me drivers for your computer. http://support.dell.com/filelib/Devi...T_P03_XPS_T___
