Well, what the hell I’ll go ahead and throw out my opinion…

Here is the deal, it is all about “personal responsibility” on both Ford Lariat’s part AND the schools part. From reading the post so far I see that Ford Lariat has “properly” practiced “personal responsibility” she stated she was indeed tardy 3 times and has no recollection on the other 2 “mystery” tradies that her school informed her she had.

It is the school administrators “responsibility” to have documented PROOF that there are indeed 5 tardies. From all accounts, on Ford Lariat’s part and her visit with her father the school failed to produce any PROOF or documentation of the 5 tardies they claimed.

Therefore the school FAILED the “personal responsibility” test, and in my opinion, have done a disservice to other students with the “do as I say, not as I do”.

The school is the authority and it is their RESPONSIBILITY as the authority to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects professionalism, responsibility and accountability. This particular school under this particular situation FAILED BIG TIME…

With TON’S of cash forcible taking away from tax payers and going towards education this is an absolute disgrace in the public school system. There is absolutely NO reason for a school not to be able to keep records properly.

As for the absolutely UN-professional treatment of the person that PAYS their salary (Ford Lariat’s father the TAX payer) is also another disgrace of the public school system. When a parent walks in they should be treated with the utmost respect PERIOD, unless of course it’s one of those parents that might come in freaking out about nothing. Either way, the parent, until proven otherwise should ALWAYS be treated as the BOSS, and CEO of the school because they ARE…

I had a teacher once say she would dock my grade if I did not attend this event on a certain day. I had already made prier arangments on that day and could not make the event.

Instead of going to get mom and dad, I took care of the situation and learned to deal with everchanging environments and use logical thinking to solve everyday problems.

Havn't you been in some problems with the school before, concerning a male teacher?

True, but they shouldn't be brought in the workplace.
wait till you experience your first: IRS audit, college professor, new Boss at work, unresonable customer that owes you alot of money, or peice of chit ex-brother-in-law that makes youe neice and nephew miserable and tell me how that theory works for you.
being right or wrong is only part of any dispute,

at 16 or 17 i was not equiped to deal with a situation like i am today, kind of the story of the papa bull and young bull looking down at all the cows when the young bull says "lets run down there and get us a cow" to which the papa bull replies "No, lets walk down and get them all".

It's pretty much been resolved. 'Mr. Tom' called my mom this morning, and was very ˘ocky to her. She said she didn't want to be disrespectful, but when you say someone has done something, you should have proof of it. Then Mr. Tom was saying how "if you want to go through these 75 folders..." making it like it was her job. Finally he said "Fine I'll look through them but it's gonna take me hours!!" Like we care? Well, a little bit after that he called my dad and he was very apologetic to him, and he apologized for Ms. Smith, but I really think she should get her scared a** up here and say sorry herself. The principal is gonna deal with her. Mr. Tom gave my dad the dates I was tardy, but for only 4. The 3 I was right about, but then there was one that said I was late for 2nd period- I was NEVER late for 2nd period. And Mr. Tom said he's gonna let me go, and give me the benefit of the doubt, because it's such a pain in the a** to look for the other tardy. So I have no detention. Once again the school system has SCREWED up. Oh, another thing- they had my absences wrong, too. I had gone on a college visit, brought back a letter of excuse, presented it to the man that deals with it, and still got counted an absence. Turns out, that form was never sent to Mr. Tom! (who is the head of it) Lazy a**es.

PhillipSVT, I did not run to 'mom and dad' about this; they just happen to care, even though I didn't really wanna make a deal out of it. I STOOD UP for myself, because I KNEW something was wrong. Just a bunch of irresponsible, incompetent people working in the wrong place.

Makes me wonder.... How did they come up with five in the first place ?

Doesn't anyone in the office have a clue about data bases or even Excel????

Look thru 75 folders?????

Let's see hmmm.. I will look thru 75 folders for each student to find out how many tardies they have. Say 100 students at 3 hours per student that's 300 manhours. That's 7.5 weeks !!! So they only check tardies once a semester???

It would seem that someone could take a data base course and set it up in less than one semester. Data could be entered on a weekly basis , then queried. Leaving 4 days a week to do other things. What a waste of taxpayers dollars by not using what the taxpayers already bought.

Don't forget that these are the same people screaming that they don't have enough money or resources to do their job properly.

I hear you, but they have so much cash they don't know what to do with it.

Time to start cutting the school budgets. I would start with an across the board 30% to begin with. Once they have less money they will be able to manage it properly rather then it disappearing somewhere...

Yeah, really. Thing is, they don't check any tardies, I am guessing I was the only one that requested so. What makes them think that no one would ask?

If the school treated her parents so lousy, I doubt they would have treated her any better. Often it's worse.
When my son had trouble with a teacher, he toughed it out for the rest of the semester (like I told him to do), but when he found that he was assigned her for the next semester, he asked to get a different one, and they wouldn't do it. I went down there, and calmy explained that while that teachers methods may work for some kids (I had done my homework on her, and she was a piece of work), they do not work for my son, and placing him there would simply waste both his and her time. Wham bam, different teacher!
Children whose parents show up at the school - and act respectfully - get way more repect than children whose parents don't care, don't show up, or act like a fool if they do show up. It's a shame it is that way, but nothing like an accelerated intro for life in the big city. Sqeaky wheel gets grease, but annoying wheel gets tossed.

So, as a soldier (read: goverment employee), and since the goverment runs of of taxes and you all pay taxes that you are all my boss? But wait, I pay taxes too, which means I pay part of my own salary, and since I pay taxes and we have decided that since my wages are taken from taxes and whoever pays taxes is my boss, then I must be my own boss. What am I still doing here?? I am going to take the rest of the year off...

Actually, you know as well as I know from when I was in, that you’re in a dictatorship type of environment and thus you answer too many of bosses (anybody that outranks you)

It has to be that way, could you imagine the military having a union…

And, thank you for serving your country, I like many others are proud of you…
